Re: Posting Photos from an Image Hosting Site
I'm using Imgur now, and am successful although the plethora of choices for links can be confusing as sometimes the one you think ought to work, doesn't, yet another does. Plus I still havn't figured out how to make an album so I can organise things better. However I'm sticking with it for now. Now....

Re: Posting Photos from an Image Hosting Site
Really... the loss of so many pictures to certain forums, especially if most members use Photobucket, devalues the website. People searching for help will no longer get all the information that was once presented. Wouldn't it be interesting to see litigation against Photobucket from a plethora of we...

Posting Photos from an Image Hosting Site
In another forum, I've just read how Photobucket has changed it's terms of use and no longer allows "third party hosting" or "image linking" which apparently means using "img" links are no longer allowed. Under their revised terms, they say: Free account : Each individual Member gets one free accoun...

Re: Just ran my first tank of nitro ever
Yep, there's nothing like it. It can cause aggravation at times, but that just makes it all the more worthwhile when it all goes right. To me, small internal combustion engines are a blast to play with, and the Savage just happens to be the best vehicle out there to put one in! :D ps: I increase th...
A carburetor is designed to supply fuel with the Venturi effect. So more air equals more fuel, no?
Yes; I would agree with that. I'd say tank pressurization is basically there to make the efects of gravity on the fuel in the tank, small. But I came back for one ...

No one's beating him up. Just advising him not to get high expectations. Plus, something tells me they can work, it's just that they usually don't. Someone will unlock the secret sooner or later. Maybe the OP will be the one. :)

Re: Just Ordered One Of These!
With regards to superchargers for glow-engines, the consensus certainly is grim. As for Purenitor's advice, I agree, although I need to ask; Purenitro: Have you ever tinkered with one? If anyone should be able to get one to work, you'd be my best bet. If I had a chunk of cash to waste, I might try o...

Re: Low life theives
Yes, a few weeks ago, my garage was broken into and thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen. Also, one of the garage doors was damaged beyond repair due to the break-in. The individual was caught. Turned out to be a neighbours son (27 years old and had become a cocaine addict). As angry as I...

Re: Motor mount plate broke... are they all the same?
I used an XL plate in my Savage 25. In theory, it won't work, but I found if I loosened as many TVP screws as I could (including the tranny screws), it would fit due to the screw hole clearances. I suppose one might have to slightly elongate a hole or two, but i didn't. On the other hand, if you are...

Re: Stripped hex wheels. Best fix?
My first and last experience with JB Weld was my first attempt to repair a stripped wheel on my Savage. Problem is the space is thin, the hardened JB Weld is brittle, and it basically breaks up in small pieces. I've written off JB Weld as being a useful product, unless you are using it in a large bu...

Re: Stripped hex wheels. Best fix?
Well, although the torque may be the same, the force the hex (points) exert on the plastic wheel is reduced with a larger diameter hex. So larger diameter hex's will definately help reduce failure. The mod I linked too, used two allen head screws which essentially did the same thing. Move the force ...

Re: For those over 35
Too far over 35 and a person might be too old for them. I don't remember the Stompers at all. My brother and I had Kenner SSPs, like these, and I was almost too old for them at the time: They were definately fast, and a friend had the Sma...

Re: Trying to figure out bash force (pyhsics/math)
OK. Doing a little research I see people figuring it out both ways. Some use Kinetic Energy and some use Momentum. So until I find out otherwise, I am going with Momentum, and my number being correct (so I'm not off by a factor of 2). :D This is because Momentum is always conserved, unless a Force ...

Re: Trying to figure out bash force (pyhsics/math)
I'm not doing much better. I'm using momentum (m*V) and I see the Website used Kinetic Energy (1/2 * m * V^2), so maybe that's my mix-up.
As was noted earlier, it's only a fun excercise. I threw in my 2 cents worth. That's probably off by a factor of 2 as well, and only worth 1 cent !
LOL.
