Re: Drinking

Wow, I never realized what a bunch of conservative people on here, not that that's bad.  I drink quite often, and I don't see any point in drinking a 1 or 2 beers.... it's usually 6-8 on Friday or Saturday night and whenever I go out to dinner with a designated driver.  I don't think having a few on...

Re: Quick question of the industry.

There is a TON more that can be done.  All you need to do, is look at the 1/5 scale scene....  I was a loyal Savage fan for 5 years as it got me into the hobby from day one of the Savage release.  Since April 2007 I've been into 1/5 with the HPI Baja.  There best innovations and aftermarket parts ha...

What are you trying to change, the spur gear and slipper clutch?

It depends what setup you have.  What truck are you running?

Re: Twin engine 5.9

Try here: www.neweramodels.com they have a conversion for the regular Savage X, SS, etc, not sure about the XL.   A word of advice, unless you have money to burn I would reconsider this.  I bought one of their conversion kits when they first came out and regretted it about a month into the process. ...

Re: what do you know about boats?

I actually read of some of the posts.... 2 stroke engines are dream to work on compared to nitro.  I've basically gotten out of nitro (keeping 1 savage), but once the 2-stroke is tuned and maintained, it runs like a dream....it doesn't stall out and run until the tank is empty.  If you have a a few ...

Re: How does International Shipping work?

The only time USPS updates the tracking info is when the item has been delivered.  If the # is in the system, then USPS has issued a # and sent the package.  It can be a lonely and long wait for the package when you don't know where it is!

Re: times are getting tuff, what are you doing to survive?

I hear all of you.  I'm parting out an extra Savage because I don't use it and can get more money for a part out than a complete sale....I've listed all my prices below stock new stuff....and still very few offers.  I guess I'm lucky though, good job, no chance of losing it, just got a raise, and st...

Re: Savage X or Savage X SS

Are you new to the hobby?  If not, then I wouldn't say the kit would be any harder than working on any other RC.  The X and X SS are virtually the same in terms of long term work....they both have easy access differentials and transmissions, which was the real pain in the *censored* when working on ...

Re: steel spurgear????

If your burning a spur gear every time there is an underlying problem.  Have you change the size of the spur or clutchbell, or taken the motor out?  I'm thinking it is a gear mesh issue.   Have you set the gear mesh properly?   I would NOT spend the money on a steel spur now until you know what is c...

Best online hobby shops for savage parts:

Savage central store

Towerhobbies

I've used others, but these 2 seem to have everything you could need, great prices, service and quick shipping.

I just saw this thread, I know it's a been dead for a few weeks, but I'd say go to college.  If you still feel like joining in 4 years, you'll be able to be an officer.  If you don't want to do it then, you won't be locked in (assuming you don't sign any commitment papers now).

I always pay right away.  I hate hearing this crap, "I won't have the money for a week or so."  If that's the case, link a credit card to your paypal account.  I have been fortunate enough to never had a person skip out on paying, just some slow payers.   When I sell stuff I sell it because I don't ...

The badlands are made from too soft a compound.  I think they'd be better for racing that bashing, even though I have a set  . Jimmy, check out www.hostilehobby.com they make their own tires and they are the best and almost only aftermarket sets available from manufacturers other than HPI.  Th...
