Vintage Kyosho Found in My Attic

Since I've been told to move on, that the relationship can continue no longer, I began to move my belongings. As I'm in the process of moving my attic boxes, I get the R/C section, yeah, I pretty much know what's in the boxes, but then..... http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/Velocity_Stack/Kyo...

Re: Kyosho TR-15 Engine Upgrade: Advice Needed

Ah, thanks.

Just noticed it's a rear exhaust port too.

Probably won't go with the Dynamite .19, cause I have 2 Dynamite side exhaust systems already.

OS may be the only choice.

Not in a hurry though, now that it's back up and running.

Re: Kyosho TR-15 Engine Upgrade: Advice Needed

I'll take a no reply as a yes - all one way bearings and pull starts will work with that engine. I finally got the OEM engine running and somewhat tuned today. Although, it's lagging from a dead stop, but screams on top end. (Dynamite pipe) I tried to adjust the lag out, but not happening so far. Am...

Re: Kyosho TR-15 Engine Upgrade: Advice Needed

Yeah, I saw that Dynamite, but it's going to take the additional parts to make it a pull start. Since it was originally designed for a Traxxas, I was not sure if it actually fits the standard mounting on other vehicles or if Traxxas has different mounting dimensions. Let me know how it goes bigbigbr...

Re: Kyosho TR-15 Engine Upgrade: Advice Needed

Seems like the LRP is discontinued and very hard find, but I like the stats behind it.

Thanks for the info.

Kyosho TR-15 Engine Upgrade: Advice Needed

I'm looking at upgrading the engine in my TR-15 Ready Set version. I also have a first gen TR-15 roller, so this question can help me decide on both projects. I'm leaning towards a .18 just because it would be a larger displacement over the OEM .15. OS seems to the about the only thing available wit...

Any Reason to Belt Phaltlines?

I'm just curious if belting a phaltline tire is necessary?

I'm not doing extreme speeds like LL, but it's a one time shot when one orders wheels and tires separately and go in for that first time gluing on the project.

I want to do it right the first time.

Re: fix for half tank lean with out doing midtank mod.

I have not done any kind of a fuel tank mod as of yet. Been reading around for a couple of years now and have seen may types of mods. I'm NOT wanting to relocate the tank at this time, so this seems to be the best bang for the buck. I can understand the head pressure it takes to push fuel straight u...

I just may give this mod a try this year, seems to have positive results.

Lets stoke the fire a little bit........ Thanks to all that have shared to this point; lots of cool stuff popping up, that's for sure. This is the first chance I've gotten, due to rain, to get some of my stuff out for pics. Since I started with my newest vehicle, I'll trend backwards in time accordi...

Show off Your R/C Collection

Lets see what everyone's got - land, water, air - complete and incomplete projects - even the stuff packed away in the attic or basement that may need parts. Heck, lets even include pics of what you've had and no longer in the family. Lets make this a pic and object detailed heavy thread. Take your ...

Here's the collection that might or might not get any use this year. The 84 550 modified, first ski bought back in 1989 - darn shame she now sits in the back yard. http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/Velocity_Stack/1984%20JS550/DSC01084Large_zps0e2370de.jpg 550 engine: Westcoast spark arrestor,...

Re: Anyone Here Ride Jet Skies? (Personal Water Craft)

I've never run anything but velocity stacks, a Westcoast slim spark arrestor in a side draft configuration on the 550 and Ocean Pro Vortex spark arrestors. Only thing with a K&N in it is the Ford Explorer and the KDX 200. I'll be throwing some pics up of my dusty - unused skies and bikes later this ...

Re: Anyone Here Ride Jet Skies? (Personal Water Craft)

Here you go Ryan222: I have 3 skies that run these old school stacks, my 86 X-2 has a Mikuni Westcoast 44mm  Red carb with one of these mounted on top and my 98 SXI Pro has two of these mounted on each of the 40mm Mikuni carbs. Like I said, it's the old school of method...... lots have changed over ...
