Re: Glitches on first race day.

Thanks Squid. I will try what you have recommended. However with receiver servo wire and transponder things are already pretty tight. Adding some padding will make it tighter but I'll try. I haven't researched glitch busters but if it goes in the receiver box there is no room for it. Unless I mount ...

Re: Glitches on first race day.

And just for a mini review the losi 8 3.0 did really well when we had something to compare it to. The novarossi p5xlt was everything we needed and more. Keep in mind I am a racing novice but before the runaway it looked like we could run with anybody. As usual I just need to get a few things figured...

Glitches on first race day.

Took part in my first race today with my two oldest sons. We had to get up at 4:30 am in order to get there in time for practice. On the second lap of practice we had a runaway, not full throttle but runaway nonetheless. It just took off at half or three quarter throttle with no control from the tx....

Re: stripped spur gear and transmission.

When you inspect your engine plate check for cracks also. I had a bad lid landing once and ended up with a small crack in the engine plate. It was hard to see but I knew if I ran it that way it would have flexed and then cause Spurs to strip.

Re: Half Tank Lean Questions

One thing that helped me a bit was making my exhaust tube as short as possible. I think it is about six inches. The fuel tube I made a little longer with one loop. I put the loop between my two innovative rc LST shock braces in the rear of the truck. This has fixed it for me or at least made the HTL...

Re: HPI Warranty Service!!!!

There are differing opinions on after run oil. I am of the opinion that if you use a quality fuel the inside of your engine will always have a coating of oil in it. The only time I use aro is when an engine is new or if I wasn't going to drive for a while. I am sure there will be plenty who disagree...

Re: HPI Warranty Service!!!!

I would recommend preheating your engine to 200F before starting during break in. Also storing your engine with the piston at bottom dead center (BDC).

That's good to hear that hpi is standing behind their product like that.

Re: I need more power!!!!!

I have a picco .28 and an ERCM picco .28 and have been very happy with them both.
In my buggy I have a novarossi and after seeing the quality of the novarossi I think I am going to try one in the savage when the time comes.

Re: Let's talk tuning

Thanks I like nitro I do not think anything is wrong with the tune and it's running great. It's just that the temperature was low and that was confusing me the weekend prior a similar tune was reading around 210 while the ambient temperature was a little hotter that day. I know not to tune for temps...

Wheelie shifting into second or third?

My son was driving our savage x today. We were doing some high speed runs and then sliding on some sand on the pavement. On one of the attempts he had the front of the truck lift up but not off the ground while shifting from first to second. After seeing this he kept trying but we never could get th...

A little puzzled with my Novarossi P5XLT

My p5xlt has me a little confused. The engine is broken in with almost 2 gallons through it. I just put a new clutch and bearings in it and drove some today and have some questions. I am using a tuning flow chart that I downloaded from one of the members here many years ago I cannot remember his nam...
