Re: New XL and tranny EXPLOSION

Check this thread out on bullet proofing your 3speed. A guy here came up with the idea but it was hard to understand so i put together a thread that makes it a little easier to understand. Its super easy to do it too!

Re: Xl and wheelies

Terra pins are the only way to go with massive jumps, the smaller tires tranfer all that shock to the weakest part of the truck.

Re: To go electric or stay nitro???

Well i watched some videos of the flux and some of modded piccos. I love my modded picco and it has been the best engine i have ever owned. My conclusions from the videos is that the Flux is just raw power and speed. No sounds and yes i agree its a radio shack sound. A nitro engine with the ERCM end...

Re: To go electric or stay nitro???

I hear ya man the only thing attracting me to electric is the speed of it. A good tune on a nitro will start everytime unless your glow ignitor sucks or the plug is bad or you break the pull starter hehe. But i too LOOOOOOVE the smell and sound of nitro esp an ERCM pipe :D

To go electric or stay nitro???

I have been rackin my brains out trying to figure out if i should go full brushless and convert one of my XL's. Now Robin at ERCM may kill me cause i have a brand new picco i need to send him. But i keep hearing all these great things about the Flux. What are the real benifits of doing the brushless...

Re: Xl and wheelies

Haha i know.... Thanx  8) My modded picco still has so much pinch even after 5 gallons, im convinced its still not fully broke in. Yes ive replaced the bearings and conn rod. Re: Xl and wheelies

With running the X engine plate you can run a 17/52 combo and you can wheelie. With the XL engine plate i run 17/47 and it still wheelies. You need a good tune. Also my picco love to run around 260. Re: what grease to use

If it aint broke dont fix it

What works great for you.. someone else might not like. This hobby is all about personall preference. What makes it even greater is that you can ask for help or ideas to make it better for you. Nobody is saying there right or wrong, just what works great for them.

Re: what grease to use

I agree that grease is not as tuneable as oil, but not everyone is a racer. For your average basher grease is perfect! I would rather go out bashin and not worry wether or not my diffs are going to break cause that oil burns up. Its a peace of mind thing.

Just do it now that way you dont have to worry about it anymore. Why cause a headache later and have to buy more parts?

Re: what grease to use

I do not use diff oil in my diffs and i do not use the HPI grease. I use full synthetic wheel bearing grease to fill my diffs and lube the pinion. I would say after about a half a gallon of some good ol bashin you should take your diff out and open it up. Your most likely going to find that your dif...
