Re: HELP: Motor/Battery/ESC for my build

Oh and the 1900kv will be more torquey but I'm serious, stick with the factory motor it's a rebadged castle. I've ran mine on 8s many times. They are beasts

Re: HELP: Motor/Battery/ESC for my build

4s in an XL setup I don't think would be very fun. It's not that much power. 5s is fun but I'm different, 6s or higher is where you either can drive or you can't. Since your going the CD route 6s will be perfect because it will give you the wow factor with reliability. If you choose to go 5s, just m...

Re: HELP: Motor/Battery/ESC for my build

Honestly I would get the factory hpi 2200kv motor. It has more than enough power and it can be bought off eBay for under a hundred bucks. The hobby wing 150a pro esc can be bought from hobby wing North America for under $90 and comes with a warranty. As for batteries, find a set with a minimum of 65...

Re: It's Bash Time...

For general bashing 0.9mm springs will prolong the life of the shoes. I would recommend the integy Evo 5 7075 kit. This is my favorite clutch and I've shown that it can put down some stupid power. It's also the only clutch I've seen that actually holds up with gearing at or around 1:1. Even the fame...

Re: Let's talk tuning

Idle gap is extremely important. Without it set perfect your tune won't be perfect. Rtr motors are more forgiving and you can tune the lsn to adjust this but higher end motors are more precise. It takes time to learn this stuff.

Re: Alza CD gearing?

Tekno rc and Novak are the best pinions out there. I prefer Tekno for sizes 11t on up. Kershaw pinions suck

Re: HPI Savage Speed v2.0

Thank you

In order for the octane trans to be useful you practically have to have the screw backed almost all the way out. The change in gearing is huge and imo to much for a normal motor.

Re: HPI Savage Speed v2.0

gearing was 22/23 and they are the S3 tires. Clutch is integy evo 7075, Werks 30%, big bores in the rear and XS up front

Re: savox steering servo

If your savox servo is not rated for HV and your running a lipo with it its only a matter of time before it dies. I highly recommend using a voltage regulator. You dont need a glitch buster if you use HV.

Re: savox steering servo

Lol it's a good servo, you will enjoy it for sure. If you run HV thru it consider a glitch buster so your receiver doesn't freak out. Savox stuff is known for this

Re: HPI Savage Speed v2.0

It gets down and still pulls wheelies lol. Soon I plan to put the same gearing on it and see what happens. Part of me wants to leave the heavy XL stuff and the other half wants to put the lighter X stuff in. Idk tho :/

Re: HPI Savage Speed v2.0

Decided to just use the Break in Mobile for right now. Gearing is still 18/47, but I changed the tires to Phaltlines.
