Re: New to The Forum Tips Please!

Sway bars definetly and pick up some different (softer) shock springs. I always liked to run one green and one black spring per corner. Some 35-45wt shock oil. Stronger servos and get a better pipe. ERCM pipe is the best pipe for that engine. The included HPI Polished pipe has too large a diameter s...

Re: What's the consensus on aluminum shock towers for bashin

Delrin shock towers or the stock plastic towers are the only way to go for bashing. I've bent some of the better quality al. shock towers within 5 minutes of bolting them on. Al. is only good for chassis, gearbox, servo arms, clutch shoes and motor mounts. Just stock up on stock shock towers from E-...

Re: alu big bores or hpi aluminium shocks (set of 8 ), WHICH

The Flux plastic shocks are the best imo. Perform soo much better and are cheap to replace with E-Bay. A million guys have asked about the al. shocks on this site. 99% of end up *censored* off with 8 bent leaky shocks after one day of bashing.

Re: OFNA 086 on the new Savage x 4.6 RTR help

The LST/Aftershock pipes will fit much better. The stinger points down. The 007 and Hi-Torque pipes are great cheap pipes that work on a wide variety of engines. Of Course the headers are of no use for a Savage. Dearch around for Ofna Headers. They make  a wide variety of one piece headers. LST pipe...

The one time I did in a 2 speed, it ate the plastic first gear...My Revos I used Dry Ice Race lube, Teflon based dry film.

Re: Waahh! I want one!

I was a die hard Spektrum fan for years, I still have one of the first 2.0 models that worls flawlessly. I recently tried out a 3pk with 2.4 FASST. I was instantly sold. BUT the price tag was too high, so I settled for the newer 3PM-MX 2.4 FASST sysytem for 160 shipped off towerhobbies. I love this ...

Re: MID Tank BY NITROMITE

Find some 1/8 scale tank mounts, servo mounts. You'll need a few engine mount braces, one to use for the steering bellcrank brace. Another to cut for mounting points for the tank. Simply drill out the holes to accept the M4 scres on the steering posts. This is the old school way. Before the premade ...

Re: Charging glow starters

You need a charger that can charge from 1 cell and up. Never charge more cells or less cells than a charger is rated for. My Dynamite prophet charger charges 5-7 cells.....I tried charging 8 "AA" batts at once with it, same result as you but I blew a fuse and made a horrible stink in under 4 minutes...

A 4 -way glow plug wrench is the trick, or a deep well 10mm socket.

Re: Wheel trouble

It will hold. The newer Maximizers are prone to this for some reason. Their older 14mm hex wheels never stripped on me even running a modded STS .30 that spanked Picco .28's.
Make *censored* sure the wheel nuts are tight and not backing off. That is the #1 cause of stripped wheels.

Re: Axial .28RR?

Rotate the flywheel until it is easy to move back and forth. That is the bottom of the stroke. The LRP is a great sport mill. pick up a Losi HT pipe or JP-2 or Dynamite 086 pipe. Any of these pipes will increase the performance by 25% if you want it. I highly suggest replacing the engine's front bea...

Re: Looking at a NEW RADIO

It's OK, I prefer the Spektrum 2.4 systens myself. Futaba has a high return rate. BUT if you do get a Futaba get the version with the FASST. It makes the servos so much faster and more precise if you use digital servos.

Re: thinking about new TVPS

As long as you have the Savage X style bulkheads and shocktowers it will be fine. no issues, the older .21 to.25 model Savages have different bulks and towers that got in the way on LCG chassis.

NEVER had a problem with mine, I ran the stock plastic Ofna cups too. Make sure you have the right number of shims on the bevels. The ring and pinions are pretty much indestructble.

Re: i bought a ofna jammin x2

Very nice rigs, love the paint and engine choices. If you want to see those puppies really come to life from mid to top try an 086 Dynamite hardcoated pipe. You reall don't loose any bottom end, nothing that clutch spring swap can't fix. The JP-3 does great on the Picco's so I am not knocking it all....
