Hey TBill, I have a question about the half-tank lean cond. When my S-25 was new I never had half-tank lean issues. I didn't tear it down and reseal when I bought it, just drove it and got lucky. I sent it to TNT for P,P & B and again didn't seal it. It ran fine. Later on I got brave and tore it...

Good R/C for 6 year-olds?

I was thinking of buying my son and daughter a couple of electric Stampedes for Chrstmas. Any of you own or have owned this truck? I had a Nitro Hawk R/C and it left a bad taste in my mouth for Traxxas. It broke very easily. Will this truck be suitable for them or will I spend all my spare time fixi...

There is a steering mod thread somewhere that is free, just takes a little time with dremel. Makes the truck turn on a dime, if u don't have a dremel use a file. This was the best handling mod I did. Second was the internal shock limiters.

The newer Savage fuel tanks have a stone filter at the pick-up. I put 3 gallons on my S-25 and tore it down , not a scratch anywhere. I think the stock filter is doing the job. An extra one can't hurt though, better safe than sorry.

Same here just grease. The stock 2 gear blew in one gallon both of them. I did the 4 gear with the HPI plastic cups and 2 gallons later there still fine.

The spring on the old servo saver gives to easily causing the wheels to turn left/right much slower. It is completely unnecassary with the cam mod. Also do a search for steering up-grades. There is a good post on removing some plastic from the C-hubs to get even more steering throw. It is really eas...

No, she will still slip when needed. The benefits of tightening it all the way down are more power, and longer slipper life. Try it, you'll like it. I went through several SG's and slipper pads and I would sand off the glaze on pressure plate. I finally added a 5x11x4 bearing in place of the bushing(...

Duct tape works excellent in tires, I did my stock tires with one wrap with as small of an overlap as I could get. They won't balloon after that. Also the foams don't shift around afterwards.

If you look at the carb right were the top o-ring sits there is a seam. it is two seperate pieces. if you hold the carb body in one hand and grab the part that goes into the block it may spin. I thought the whole carb was moving but it wasn't. I only put a very tiny amount of ca glue on this seam, a...

I just knew someone was going to rip me anew one for that post, thanks for the reply. But I think you might have missed the point I was trying to make. Sealing the head pipe at the block equals more pressure in the fuel tank.( if it is leaking to begin with). I read on Orion's forum for the Wasp .28...

That also happened to me after I removed my carb from engine. After I looked closely at the carb I could see that the carb throat and carb body are 2 seperate pieces. Really irratating problem, the carb would rotate with the servo preventing wide open throttle and causing a high idle. I dont know ho...

Possible half-tank lean fix?

This may not be the answer to everyone's half-tank lean issue but it worked for me. I did several searches on this and got a lot of good answers, the best being to finally sit down take my time and seal the engine. I used hi-temp O2 safe black sealant from local auto parts store. I sealed the high s...
