My first Traxxas...Hello Slayer Pro!

Post by NizzleMaShizzle » Tue Feb 10, 2015 2:14 am

Hey folks! I got me a Traxxas Slayer Pro 4x4 Scott Douglas Edition over Xmas, and I finally broke her in and made some unboxing/break-in vids! Any of you guys own a Slayer Pro? If so, I would love to hear your feedback on these things. So far I am pretty excited about the performance out of the box. Let's hear about yours....I would like to know problems you have experienced while owning one, and hop-up items you put on it :D

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to master the ins-and-outs of this kit over the next few months. I also post on the Traxxas forums, and it seems like only a handful of people are active there. Since you guys have been super nice and informative during my stay here in savage-central, perhaps some of you guys can chime in on the Slayer.

Just made a running vid of the Slayer and didn't wanna make a separate thread.  Hey mods is it ok if I just throw up all my Slayer vids in this thread? I don't wanna saturate a Savage specific channel with a non-savage kit, by throwing up new Slayer video threads each time. I'm hoping to minimize forum traffic by just keeping em' in here since I already have 4 vids posted up...

Here's a teaser/intro of my Slayer project. I got 90% of the parts that I need to complete the build so I'm gonna get started modding my rig. I'm gonna break it down into a 3 video series so stay tuned for my epic build!

Sorry for the inactivity on my Slayer project for the last 2-3 weeks. Thank you all for your patience, had some personal things to attend to--now the project continues. Here is the Picco mounted with pullstart! Truck feels much lighter without the EZstart assembly (sorry no scale to confirm how much exactly however I shall be getting one soon). Pretty straightforward install. I did have to grind the bottom portion of the cooling head on the chassis side to make room for the rear Tekno sways. The Traxxas 3.3 clutch, one way bearing, and 3.3 pull-start all fit like a glove on the Picco P-Max .21. The mill also comes with an included mount to make the install that much more easier.I haven't installed the THS pipe yet, as I will be breaking in the Picco with the stock pipe and be monitoring how she performs with the stocker first. Standby for some running vids as soon as I have her all breaked-in, tuned, and ready to go!

LOL SV. Here's a first run after break-in took me about 10 tanks to finally loosen up the pinch enough for me to tune it. Unfortunately my glowplug fouled out in the process of leaning the HSN. Once I get a new one standby for some running vids  :)
