snugs you always impress me, the brakes are a great idea, I must say the savfire looks great, I liked it on goliaths better though. I'm not sure about the front wing though, is it functional or just cosmetic?

i hope the wing helps a bit but im with you on that it might look better.

thing is that i had this wing in my part box so i kinda rolled with it. i am thinking about carving the sides to get it to look a little bit more like a formula1 front wing and it is still sitting too high

i might even get another baja 5b wing and put it on the front end.

still im unsure yet it will become clear next time ill start working on it. the hellfire is now on hold.

ok glad i found this section as i have a hellfire roller on its way to me cheap
had a crt truggy brushless for a while but i do like hpi so i sold it as runner to buy my ss roller
and now picked up a hellfire roller to brushless and play with the savages
the diff interchangability with savage looks good but how many other parts cross over or are close enough to be modded??
yes i have looked hard at the hpi europe site and the savage and hellfire manuals
mr snuggles do you still have one?? and do you have pics of the savage skidplates onto there?? that an awesome longboat sculpture in your pics above

it got stolen. the cen diffs that have been used for the savages fit directly into the casings, just some shims and you are done. even the axle cups work with the hellfire axles.

i'll post a pic of the hellfire cen diff mod later, can't log into imageshack at the moment.

thanks and bummer about the theft of your hellfire
i have seen the diff conversion pics but was wondering about the savage skidplate conversion?
did you use the plastics only or the alloy plates and the plastics??
very keen to see how this holds up and i have many sets of wheels/tyres with no offset to burn up on a wide arm truggy

i only used the plastic skidplates and the arms that go to the bumper.

i used two screws to secure it to the bottom and some straps to fasten the savage bumper arms to the existing hellfire bumper. yes it had dual bumpers on each end.

ive looked for some good pictures of this but it seems that i never considered this as a thing someone would like to do.

i did this to help the hellfire to last longer and help it get over large rocks. the skid plates helped it slide up and over rocks instead of just hitting them with the original setup.

the rear skidplate works as a nice wheelie bar as well. i cut rubber rings apart and put them over the rear bumper, then i ca glued them together so they could turn freely on the bumper.

here is a vid, no wheelie bar, just the bumper with the rubber rings on it.
