Some helpful links to hobby shops that specialize is Baja parts:

Hobby shops
www.hostilehobby.com -- They have a decent assortment of parts and good prices.
www.davesmotors.com -- they have the best selection or parts, decent prices and great shipping times.
www.teamgonads.com - TGN - they have many of their own parts, and few from other manufacturers as well.
www.pythonmotorsports.com - They have some different parts than other suppliers, and free shipping on many orders over a certain amount.

Forums that specialize in 1/5 scale:
www.5thscaleracing.com -- they have the most current info on product releases and are very helpful in the more advanced areas, such as engine setups.

You guys check out www.teamgonads.com yet? You can spend $1800 and get your baja with all the goodies. 30cc engine pipe etc.

We dont have any kind of dunes here. Just flat land and mud. I would get one if I had a good place to run. Doesent seem like its an everywhere basher like the Savage. Not much fun in the front yard or parking lots.

I'm hopeing the popularity will convince hpi to make a truck version. I think it will eventually happen. The Baja has defintely opened teh market.

SV, yea I've seen the site. Have you seen the $5,000 one they got for sale? You wife or girlfriend could put her makeup on by looking at the chassis, it's so shiny!!!!

I'd love to have an SS, but I've got over $2,000 invested in the RTR version I got in June, no way I'm gonna sell it any recoup anything near what I've put into it. The one thing I like about the Baja is there are so many dressup parts for it, and many of them are functional, like the roof scoop(s).

Monster, that thing looks ungodly clean, have you run it yet? I'd recommend some outerwears filters for the air filter, pullstart and shocks.

Ha nope she hasnt seen a drop of fuel yet, it arrived out of the box with the rear hub carrier snapped so I have to wait for that part to arrive, none of the LHS had parts in stock "I guess b/c of the holidays"so I am stuck waiting. I was going to just put it on a block or stand of some kind and run a tank and let her idel and get it sorta tuned but its been cold here.

For anyone who is interested in getting a Baja, or has one, the following are the hop-ups I would recommend for either the RTR or SS. None of these hopups are overly expensive, and they help keep the Baja clean, and help with some weak areas.

1. Outerwear filter for air filter
2. Outerwear filter for pullstart
3. Outerwear filter for shocks
4. Vertigo Performance Rear axle extenders
5. Pro-match 4200 Mah Rx battery
5a. HPI 3000 Mah Rx battery
6. TGN Billet spark plug cover

If you're looking strictly for replacement parts www.hostilehobby.com has the best prices.

Another option would be: www.davesmotors.com, but they are not shipping orders until Jan 2. Towerhobbies might be a 3rd resort, but their prices for Baja replacement parts are high, and they might not ship very fast with the holidays.

What exactly did you break? Got any pics of the carnage?

man, i didnt get anything, i was spazzing, i can say this, picture the way i type it

every plastic part in teh front was bent and shattered and tattered
all bellcrank pins were bent
the entire front chassis portion bent up another 80 degrees (thats 4mm of steel)
top plate was warped liek a pancake and broken in the middle

lets say it was mad! im in the middle of attempting to rebend the chassis in place, the metal is cooling, and the orange parts need to be reshipped... (not even in stock in LHS supplier (horizon hobby)
