Re: STOMPER 4X4X4
ya, claws. Remember there was also that one that had like 24 wheels and looked like a centipede?
I also had the big stomper that had a removable winch on the front that actually worked. I used to love that thing. It was strong too, had high/low and forward and reverse.
I also had the bigfoot toy that switched between 2 and 4 wheel drive.

My brother and I had a colection of Stompers as kids. We would drive them in the swimming pool at my grandmothers. They would drive along the bottom with the lights on. They were the best!

Oh WOW! I am back in the 5th grade all over again. :)
I would take them to school and have them climb the large wooden handrails on the staircases.

Okay, I know I'm totally reviving a thread from the dead, but I have to tell my Stomper story. When I was a little boy, one Saturday my mom told me to go wake up my sister (10 years older than me). I, being the devious little brother that I was, WITH NO ILL INTENTIONS other than to have my sister wake up to the feeling of something strange, put a stomper under her covers at the foot of her bed.
Let me stop for one moment...
The one thing this thread hasn't really talked about was how much torque these little trucks had. These were geared WAAAAAY down so they didn't go very fast, but they could climb and power through just about anything (relative to their size and weight).
Back to the story...
So there I was, having just come back from my mission to wake up my sister, anticipating the startled yelp from her room but what came next sounded more like an wounded rabbit caught in a dull, rusty trap.
Apparently, Stompers have such incredible torque that not only did it make the perilous journey through the land of sheet, but when it made it to her shoulder length hair, it did an excellent job of winding it up around the axles, eventually grinding to a stop at her skull.
I do not have enough time or a large enough vocabulary to describe my sisters anger and hatred for me at that moment. We had to cut the stomper out of her hair, leaving her with less than desirable lengths of hair in sporadic places.
And that was the last time I used a stomper to wake someone up.

Me & my brother used to tie them together & have pulling wars, we would swap tires for for better pulls, we even used 9 volt batters for more power. but they dont last long on a 9 volt, they burn out fast that way.
Kids now adays probably think stompers are lame, with their Xbox's, playstation's, and everything else.
