Its hard to remember that far back I bought my first savage 21 used then started buying parts to build my own new 21 but by the time I collected all the parts the 25 was out so it got that motor after that I lose track bought and traded 10 or more trucks in the next 5 years to come to my 3 that I have now. Had some really fun times and some times wanted to give every thing away. Its sad most of my friends have left the hobby behind mostly dew to hard times lately

I know the thread is a little old but..ah man, memories. I started to get a .21 then boom! the .25 came out and had to pick that one up. It was a great truck that I eventually sold and regret doing ? . Sadly I haven't been into rc since the introduction of the lst days but one day..I'll come back.

SN: Seems like the engines they've come with now are rediculous lol. Those engine sizes were "projects" back then.
Are we still rivals with the tmaxx crew?    ?

Honestly, I still prefer the pre X styling. Many times I've comtemplated converting my SS to an X to be more modern, but why?

Ha , awesome thread, got a savage 21 when they were released in uk. All those probs I remember, the update on hpi website to loctite the back plate, thought it was so complicated to do back then! Remember always bending that ally roll hoop, that's now plastic. And those 14 mm hexes, *censored*!
Ended up with a pico 26, hardcore racing ti chassi plates, big joes etc. had it till about 2006 then sold it! Didn't think seven years later I'd buy a new savage !
Strange seeing some part that I remember from ten years ago!
Time flies?....

I have just pulled my Savage 21 out of the garage after about 6 or 7 years and the motor turns over but is somewhat gummed up a little bit. It won't start and I only ran it about six or seven times before I started traveling for work and stored it in the garage. It's still pretty much new. I did squirt a little bit of Marvel Mystery oil in the piston before I stored it.
I know this is an old thread but if there is anyone out there that can give me some advice, I would appreciate it.
How much work do you think it will take to get it running again, fella's?

I've owned every version except the XL and electric side. Truth be told the. 21 was always my favorite. Bought it 2weeks after it was released. Ended up selling all of them now I'm getting. A .25 would love to find another stock. 21 to get back in my collectiin.
my savage eats maxx for breakfast, lunch and supper, and occasionaly for desert it gets some LST
