Stock Shocks

There is a lot of ambiguity when it comes to "what is the stock oil weight" for the big bores. I have no idea, but I emptied one new one and tried the following oil wts to see which one most matched the other stock shocks I received: 400(cst), 35, 32.5, 30, 27.5, 25, 22.5, 20

22.5 was the closest. At first I chaulked it up to the cold weather, but then....

The last time I did this i think 20wt was the closest...so who knows. Anyway, here is one of them, two months old. It sat packaged for three weeks, mounted for five weeks, and has less than 1/4 gallon on it. It is what it is, and in all candor this is a first (and I monitor them). I personally thinking its the plastic mold. Plastic seems to have the most disparate issues compared with CNC, CF, etc.
