Front Wheel Drive Only

Post by ohhhmy » Thu Sep 17, 2015 10:05 pm

I was out bashing today and all of a sudden I lost power in the rear wheel. The dogbone is still there and brakes still lock up all 4.

What did i brake?

Anyone around LA/Hollywood/Burbank area, I found a really good spot to bash, it's in the hills, big dirt field, lots of climbing and hills.

U prolly lost a set screw that holds the cup where the rear driveshaft sits in. Check to see if the screw is still there. I used to live in silverlake now I'm in Riverside. Where do you bash? Griffith park?

All the screws are in place.

When I spin the brake disk with my finger with wheels off the ground, all wheels spin. But I spin the spur gear with my finger, only the front wheels spin. weird.

This is where I bash, check out the street view, there's 3 huge dirt lots there that is perfect for racing around with cones and there is a good hill climb to the top where the 3 helicopter pads are, tons of cool obstacles.. We should have a meet and put out some cones!

Sounds like the screw at one end or the other of the rear drive shaft has broken. They can look to be in place but be broken inside the cup.

Lol the pin you dropped for your secret bash spot is in the middle of the Mediterranean sea East of Tunisia. I'll meet you there on a jet ski. I'll make sure to put some paddles on my savage and make a raft for it out of popsicle sticks with cutouts so the wheels can touch the water.
