Reviving the Savage

Post by alf1096 » Sun Nov 08, 2015 5:03 pm

I have had a savage 4.6 that I put about a gallon or fuel through then it went on the self and has been sitting for 4 or so years. I pulled the engine and go it broke free. I have to order some parts for the starter so it will be a week or so before fire up. I have been out of RC for a while and when I was in I was a heli and airplane guy so I have a few questions to help me get going again.

1 what glow plug?
2 is 30% fuel the way to go
3 is there a fix for the bumpers
4. I always broke gears with the stock steering servo, so what is a good upgrade.

I like 30%. Mccoy mc8 plug.

Use the old s25 bumper braces or use a tie strap to keep them from spreading. I think alza racing makes a fix kit as well.

Any metal geared servo with 250 or more oz of torque. I find the best deals on ebay. They frequently have the hitec 7955 for $80-90
