Is there any campgrounds closeby there? Even just a rest area on the side of the road is good enough for me...if it's legal to spend the night anyways.I love camping out of my van! I'm a country boy, I don't need no stinkin hotel!!

I actually am leaning toward the camping, but if it takes 1 more room to fill the minimum rooms for the group rate, I'll grab one myself. Camp spot I have is actually less than a mile from the track. My parents were good enough to allow the use of the backyard for camping, as long as it dries up enough for camping by then. If not, I'll have a place to camp for those that want to, my Grand parents live not too far away, and have 80+ acres. You may have to sleep with the Belgians and Holstiens though  .

crs- question for you! ummm ... how far is it from Rhode Island? cause i would love to go and play around with my truck ! its so hard to find people to drive your savage around with! i know the place is between syracuse and abany! im on the border of CT and RI sort of about 3 miles away! but ill look for an estimate on mileage! any thing else like donations to track i read but still not clear cause i just scan!

Squid- camping would be great cause its just $89 more dollars toward fuel and parts the...WILL ... get broken! please also get back to me on that!

THanks

thats for if ya have multi items to play with aka buggy and such.. just so we know and can arrange events for other toys you may have...

it is rome ny

a notery is like a person who stamps car titles and such, basically they are a witness to a legal binding argument, the place you renue your drivers licence should be able to do it.. its just a saftey precaution to make sure your parents know where you went for the weekend.. dont need some parent sayign you ran away or anything..

Most banks have a notarty there, some are no charge, the most I have paid for notary is $10.00. It's kind of a cover our butts kind of thing for those under 18. If by some chance, you get smacked in the head when some crazy SOB dong a backflip doesn't see you in front of the ramp.

Money Order or check is cool. I can also accept paypal. I believe my paypal ID is in the 1st post in this thread if it's not, let me know. The very 1st post in this thread has been kept up to date with edits by CRSMP5.

HPI officially has an open invite to the bashfest(Maybe even no entry Fee, depending on the goodies they bring  ), I know there is one HPI employee on the site, maybe more.

yeah i know there is at least one employee from HPI here! also there is a HPI Challenge down in Orlando Fl. on April 30th and May 1st . yeah the noterary thing... so its really just like a waver saying my parents now whats going on and if i get hit by a savage (like we have all seen that one chick) doing a backflip i cant hold you guys realiable. its more my fault then the driver! ok squid i also need more details on transportation! i was thinking of takin a bus up there cause my dad is on Military business that week and i cant get a ride from him! so if i would take a bus how would i get to the place where we could meet? and for the two days that we are going for some ppl. dont have cell phones (i one of them) and exspeccially if we are camping, not everyone carries a feild radio with them you know! so we have to make a plan on this sort of things that might, WILL, come up in the scenario of people camping! also ill be going to my hobby shop and ill talk to the guys there they might be able to go. most of them have 2 show trucks and like 4 bashers! the reason i bring all this stuff up is that my dad is a little stuck up about anything with the word ALONE in it! so if i can prove to him that this bashfest will be pretty legit he wont mind! so thanks again Squid and CRS.

well its just a track, crc, so it really does not matter about the forum type of thing.. just tell him you want to go check out a new race track...

talk to the bus company, see where the drop off point is and the pick up point/time is and i think most likely someone can fetch ya from the stop..

Check trains also, Utica station 15 miles from me, and Rome station less than a mile from the track, but I don't know if the station in Rome is active anymore. Utica train station is also bus station. Your best scenario, would be to get someone from the local LHS to meet your parents, and get thier approval to split gas money with them for the trip.

EDIT: Your Dad does't happen to be going to NORAD at the old Griffis AFB does he? That is only 10 min for the track. That would be one heck of a coincidence. 8O

Iv'e gotten a PM or 2 asking what is going to go on at the bashfest, so here it goes. I have been working on getting arrangements made for Hotel, and with the track. I haven't devoted a lot of time to the actual planning of events at the Bashfest.
For Saturday:
Tuffship said he would build a 20"-21" wide ramp aproximately 4'-5' long and 2'-3' tall for a technical jumping contest, exact rulesto be determined still.
There has been mention of some 1 lap races, either timed or heads up.
Big air contests have been mantioned.
Sunday:
Breakout the racers, and join the locals for a club race. The most common classes are MT(club rules are being discussed at the moment regarding truggies), 1/8th scale buggies, and 1/10th scale electric truck. Ocasionally, a small group shows up with 1/10th scale nitro trucks, but not often.

Last year, there were a couple events planned, but with the small group that showed, we ditched the plans, and basically someone would speakup and say "Let's see who can jup the highest off double jump", or "Let's drag that table and piece of plywood out to the back straight, and see who can jump the farthest." We can do that this year, or set a schedule of stuff to do. This is for everyone to have a good time attending, so if you have an idea, post it up. If we get some good ideas, I'll do what I can to see that we plan to do it. In the next couple weeks, I am going to go through all the pages in this thread, and put all the ideas that have been brought up together, and fugure out what ones are doable, and what ones aren't. If you have a way to bring a jump, or a loop, or anything that you think will be fun, bring it. And please let me know that you are doing so, that way I can dedicate a little more time to the scheduleing if hat is what we decide to go with, versus a show up and just run type event.

The hobby shop will be open from Noon to 6 on Sat, and doors open at 11AM Sunday, and the shop is open untill racing is done.

I am still planning on it. I will help Squid in trying to gather some prizes.

We are also looking for some MT rules. It looks like ROAR is dropping the ball again and we are trying to set some rules for MT and Truggys classes for the local track. If anyone knows of some written (local) rules that designate MT and truggy please PM them to me. I want to re-write them for our local track. I'll post what we end up with before racing season.

Thanks
