It shifts from 1-3 with the grub screw dialed all the way in for 3rd?

Hmm this is interesting cause I too am in the X chassis but haven't ran it yet. I wonder if I'll have the same issue.

If your shifting so quick into 3rd then you should lighten the pawl. A modded motor will only make it shift faster

Well, I got to run the truck tonight and Im sitting in the same boat. My truck is either still slipping somewhere or something much worse, I cant even say it

Basically I put a brand new clutch on (MaxLife shoes w/ 0.9mm springs) They lasted about 15min of run time. I think there trashed but havent got a good look yet. I also put a brand new idler shaft in and a new OWB for 1st gear. Also checked and super tightened, basically locked down the slipper and yet my truck doesnt sound the same at all. You can barely here it shift and when it does its muffled and most of the time you cant notice it does. Since putting it in the X chassis I cant reach 3rd gear. So im hitting 48.3mph in 2nd haha not bad imo. But I dialed back 3rd a full turn and got it to shift twice. When it does its like the truck barely makes a sound and just lurches forward. Something is not right at all. It honestly sounds like its still slipping, cause the rpms are alot higher pitched than normal. esp for 20/43t gear with CEN diffs. Idk, im going to order another Integy clutch cause there only clutch that actually works for me. I think I might try to permenantly lock the slipper too.

The other bad thing that happened tonight was my last run I hit the brakes hard and the truck just died, upon further inspection the CB bearings went. Ouch but I have 10 brand new ones.

Another option is to take my other picco and drop it in to see if its the truck or the motor thats causing my issue. Process of elimination

Just bought the integy clutch kit and a 19t CB to try

You did loose some weight so rpm's will be higher , just a thought maybe try a 40 tooth spur , i took a plastic traxxas one and mounted it with 3 screws right to the alum piece( the first piece that goes on trans )and it lined up good with the cb but first test it did not last long i also had to raise the motor also , i stacked another motor plate under motor mount and flm plate but i did not secure it just relied on the 4  motor mount bolts to hold it , probably why i ate up the 40 tooth plastic . will get a steal 40 tooth one and spend more time setting up this to work , i think it will 40 x20 =2.0 gear

Your right with the higher RPM but this is way higher than it should be and the shifts are almost non existant which is the issue. Plus I had to turn out 3rd gear cause of the lack of weight.

Instead of adding another motor plate why dont you try and add some washers underneath the motormount. You would just need longer screws.

Yes 40/20t is 2.0 gearing... very very curious to hear a video of the truck running that.

Also is your 3rd gear maxed out?

i got longer screws with purple motor plate , to use it i had to cut the ears off that usually bolt to the trans it was simple and painless to do, I just need to secure added plate with some screws and locking nuts to fixed flm plate and i think it won't shift around . When i get the steel 40 tooth mounted and plate mouImagented ill get a video for you , here is one i do have with 43x20 .

haha yep tonight I just reached it and my truck is not at 100% Something is binding in the drive line or the tranny. When I post up the video you'll notice that you cant hear it bang thru the gears like it used to. So its a tell tail sign that somethings wrong with thr truck, not the motor.
The clutch did hold up today  :D

Your shift points sound great, but the motor sounds a touch lean.

notice how hard your truck shifts compared to mine. Your truck is at 100% where as I am not. Thank you for the video cause it will help me pin point my binding issue.

Well ive listened to the new video and it would appear that my truck is not shifting into second gear. Its going from 1st to 3rd. But that still doesnt explain why its a dog off the line. Where as in the XL chassis it would scream off the line. A lighter truck should do the same but more.

I think im going to swap back in the BP diffs and dial 2nd back a half turn. This tranny is still setup for the XL. 3rd gear as of right has been dialed back a full turn and is no longer maxed out.

That being said the truck has no second gear and is still capable of reaching 57mph, thats ERCM Power right there

Id like to see sunshines on radar. GPS sucks. I broke an Etrecks the same way. Thing is the best GPS is only accurate to 100' or so. 100' is a long way for a savage so you have to keep it screaming for a while to get the right top speed measured.

Well based off what I have seen with it my gps and radar are very very close with respect to measuring. However the radar reads faster than the gps. So if I had the radar out tonight it might have said 58mph.

A 100' if long but I'm screaming out around 200'. But I'm getting to my top speed around 175' or less

So it turns out that the tranny was basically in 3rd gear from start to finish. What I mean is the the grub screw had backed all the way out and the pawl would release way early. Infact it would release when I spun the shaft by hand. That tells me that it was in 3rd gear when the clutch engaged. Haha 57 mph and it was in 3rd gear the whole time. That my friends is extremely impressive.

 ERCM POWER
