It's zeroed for each run but it was getting darker by the minute. Plus I was on the phone with robin. Trust me I'm the guy that's going to call you out if it's not so yes I will back it up with a zeroed start.

I certainly hope I can squeeze out another .8mph. Would be nice to have a 60mph nitro savage that's as fast as the flux haha

Tomorrow I'm going to make a new motor plate and address my mounting issue.

Honestly when I first started this whole competition to try and reach 50mph let alone break Robins record, I would have never thought I could go as fast as I am now. The crazy part is the truck stayes the same other that a few tweeks here and there, its mostly the tune that allows me to reach higher and higher.

59mph is brutally fast for a savage.....im still in awe over the fact I gained 1.2mph buy changing the chassis and trying the 19t cb.

I took my truck out last weekend but my ignitor died.   . I switched back to the losi 420 series dishes. I have not weighed them but they are noticably lighter that the phaultlines on blast in my hand. They are also a little taller and much wider.

Sunshine, Nitronly where you guys at with your runs???

Im so curious, I truly hope that this thread with all 19 pgs (WOW) has helped a little bit

Nitronly would you mind please making a video so I can listen to help you reach your goal of 55mph

Sunshine, where do you stand with your traxxas gearing?

Have either of you thought about the CEN diffs. Were talkin a gain of 6-7mph with them alone

As to my truck I stripped the 3rd gear pawl.... what crazy is that im going thru these things so fast. I gues it just show cases the power of ERCM

Yea i put together a x chassis with xl drive cups and axles , short and wide .I also have bought  a set if  cen diffs but got the wrong ones the bearing size is wrong couldn't get them to work in the stock savage housing .

I hope to run this weekend as well weather permiting.

Glad to hear the GPS works, mine had to be shrink wrapped lol

Well I have bad news my motor has seen its day. Dont get me wrong it still hauls, 58 mph fast but doesnt have it in her anymore to hit 59 or 60. The motor has seen 4 gallons of straight up scream your face off full throttle runs. It was bound to happen. For now Ill drop 17/47 back on and bash the crap out of her but her HS runs are done im afraid. Ive spent two days testing and to no avail. 58.4mph and 58.2mph was my fastest out of the two days. Do I think all tuned up the way she is with one gallon less thru her would I have hit 60.... you bet. But there was a ton of trial and error involved to get this far.

I do have plans to reach 60, but it will need a new mill as mine has been exhausted.

Dont underestimate my motor, it would have hit 60 if I knew what I know now a gallon sooner

Oh and I guess I can let the cat out of the bag now

At gallon 3 when I rebuilt, I noticed something horrifying. My piston and sleeve have a HUGE scratch running down the entire length of the piston and sleeve. Something fell into the motor when I either replaced a glow plug or when I pulled the head to check for detonination. Ether way it was my fault the motor got scratch. Wait I just realized something... when I used to live in va beach I was running at my ol stompin grounds, well I flipped the truck into a super muddy puddle and it killed the truck. Hmm that too could have been the cause. Either way the motor has been damaged thruout my entire quest for speed. I will post pics just have to tear the motor back down. The scratch is so deep that you can easily stick your thumb nail into it 8O

The dynamite header from either the 086 or 053 pipe. You can also just buy the header I think or te pipe it's one or the other. But the tsias header that dragonbat has will also work and it's cheaper

The two headers at the bottom of the page will work the best if you want to use the springs to connect the header to the pipe.

LLkoolskillet: What sort of engine mount do you having fitted to the Picco 28? I heard the picco's can be a very tight fit.

I use the stock hpi mount. If its a little tight just file the inside of the mount and you should be golden

Above you see the piston and sleeve with 3 gallons thru them. Well below is what 6 gallons look like with the horrific scratch

Ive got to say Thank You to Robin for the *censored* mill.... even tho I screwed it up with the scratch, it still destroyed the record by 6mph
To everyone else that gave inputs and ideas, Thank You. Without this site and Robins help I would have never reached my goal of 53mph, then kept pushin it higher and higher  :D

If anyone wants to try a run at the record, do it... but you know who your going to have to get your mill from to even come close
