Trophy truggy body

Post by bean2080 » Tue Oct 27, 2015 8:12 am

I was looking around at bodies the other day and according to tower hobbies the trophy truggy body is almost identical in size to the savage body. Has anyone ever tried to fit this body on a savage?  This body is more of a monster truck style body rather than a truggy style so I was thinking it may look pretty good on a savage.

If anyone has any pics of their savage with this body post them up, I am curious what it may look like.

Thanks

I have the nitro version of the trophy truggy.
The only problem is that the exhaust pipes is on opposite sides.
If you want to put that body on your savage get the trophy flux body.
The flux body has the bump for the pipe on both sides. So its wider.

Thanks for the reply. How do the front body posts bolt up?  Since the trophy body posts are on a raised surface I was wondering if the savage posts would work.

There are some fairly cheap pre painted bodies on eBay, both flux and nitro, this might be a cool alternative to the stock savage shell.

I just checked the bodies. The savage body mounts aren't tall enough. They are the same width and diameter but the pins that go through the body are too short.
If you get an uncut body you could move the body mounts to in front of the windshield. Then it would work.
Your other option would be to get the trophy truggy body mounts and mod them onto the savage shock towers.
You could also cut the body pins off the stock mounts and screw longer ones on them.
It can be done its just going to take a little imagination to make it work.

Thanks for the info. It's doable for sure, maybe it will be a little project for me this winter.

That's the spirit. I've been looking at doing the same thing.
