The buck that I form over (factory HPI 5SC body filled with expandable foam).

Here is the vacuum form of the stock 5SC body (PETG 1.5mm). You can see the crease lines and where the plastic hasn't pulled down hard enough around the buck due to the buck not being well supported (had to stop the pull due to the buck deforming). Creases happened because the buck compressed so the plastic over lapped and became stuck together. You can reheat the PETG again and reform it but I would only do that to test the buck again for strength.

Looking good. Would you say the expandable foam works as good or good enuf as the Dental Stone?

Surely its cheaper....

It holds up find while inside the body just for this one it didn't fill all the voids so it did compress when suction was used. Just have to fill the voids and it will be fine. Foam is no good without the body.

Could you make a guide to building one of these then explain they how to's to make your own molds and instructions? When and if you do I would like a copy of this. I am so excited I have so many ideas in my head to make.

Hi there.

I'll try to find some time over the Xmas holidays to put something together as a guide to making this setup. I have filled in the voids of the SC body now and have to get around to forming another body for the truck. See the build thread here: modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=95748

I'll try and draw it up in CAD so it can be present in a clean tidy way so people can see how it is done
