Converting to bump start

Post by badboy » Wed Mar 26, 2014 10:31 pm

I am looking at an associated rc8.2 race spec. It's an rtr so it will need to be converted to bump start. I contacted associated and they said the reedy .21vs cannot be converted to bump start.
Does this mean its impossible or is it just because a bump start backplate is not available?

Couldn't I simply remove the pull cord and plug the hole. Maybe remove the
OWB also?

Possibly a back plate not available, or a crank. Most pull start cranks are made with a pin on the crank to engage the pull start. You may also need a different fly wheel that is bigger in diameter. I am not familiar with that particular engine, but those are a couple reasons most engines can't be converted.
