Post by Vava » Thu Feb 09, 2012 10:51 am

Hi guys

I have three friends that racing with Revo 3.3 and they are faster them me?
What I can do to revert this?
I'm using steel spur gear 49T and clutch 16T.
1st and 2nd gear is original.

I would seeing they eating dust...hehehe

if you want to know how to smoke them we can help :D

Going to need the full specs of your truck to help though. Anything not stock on the truck?

Set up a jump where you get 10' of air. When they break down youll be going way faster! Tall grass works to. $ for $ a revo will be faster but the savage will be stronger. They are smaller and lighter. You could buy carbon fiber everything and the savage would still weigh more.
Things you can do to make a savage more competitive on a track like setting better stearing servo, lower ride hight by adding 1/2 of fuel tube to the shock shafts inside the shock body, lrp or picco engine, ercm pipe, diffrent tires, lcg tvp's. As for a street drag...
savage x ss Lrp zr.30, octane cage and mod radio box, ofna mid tank 250cc, integy saver front/rear hubs, sv250 mod 3 spd, no mix arm throttle, hitec 5645 5625 servos, 4xbb 4xstd shocks w/35wt, flux drivetrain, 30k wt diff oil,  new era wing, tonys screws

HPI suspension conversion, big bore shocks and sway bars if you want to be faster around a track. Picco 28 and ERCM pipe if you want to be faster in a straight line.

Setting up a large jump works too. I bash with Revos on occasion, and they do quite well on flat ground and prepared tracks, but as soon as we start launching the trucks and landing on rough terrain, they are constantly broken.

I am interested in lowering the ride height and adding the fuel tube sounds interesting.. My only concern is are the stock springs stiff enough to stop things breaking after big air?
