Want to start a place for us SPEED FREAKS to share info and to show how you get that big truck to FLY  ,,,,,it can be an x or xl,( no electric) ,,,,,,, only rule is to have video proof of your accomplishment and record speeds by either a garmin or gps device or a radar gun ,,,,,,, and have a savage format frame,  it has to at least look like a savage any weight any tire any gear any mill , (((I'M IN !!!!!!!!!. ))))) any ideas are welcome to discuss .

Heres where I am. I started building the tranny. Still have to lighten my 3rd gear, might do it today when i'm done work. Will a 5/64 hole be too small? I figure I will try that and see if more is needed. Sunshine, LL How much did you guys remove? Also going to build my cen/ hellfire diffs as soon as I get one more savage .21/ hellfire plastic cup
I need a fuel tank, clutch, engine plate braces, a couple ti tranny parts, the other ti dogbones, air filter to finish the rest.
I'm getting layed off next week so I'm low on cash until spring. Snow doesn't melt here until April so no testing 'til then anyway. If the chassis isn't finished then I will drop the modded picco and side bleed in my xl to finish break in and lay down some numbers. My basher(est about 14 lbs) with ercm lrp .30 layed down consistant 48 mph runs and is much heavier than my xl.

I started with my custom XL tipin the scales at over 12lbs. I have then removed about 2.5lbs of weight. That's a huge gain in power to weight. As far lighting the pawl. Just take a little off at a time and test run it

hea Nitro , on mine i did not remove the paw from the clutch holder i just loosen the adjustment screwor remove if you want  so i could pry the paw out like when its engaged and took a cutoff wheel on a air tool  and ground some material off as far away from the point or tip as i could ,also after each time you remove material make sure it operates freely and like LL said do a little at a time till you like the shift point .

So I shouldn't drill a hole right through it? Maybe half way and try that? I won't be able to test anything until spring.

i did not drill a hole , i removed material off the back side with a grinder wheel or what i call a cut off wheel used in the body shop business to cut sheet metal its like a real thin grinder wheel but 3 inch diameter.
