Losi 8ight 2.0 rtr

Post by badboy » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:42 pm

I have decided on a losi 8ight 2.0 rtr to begin my illustrious racing career.  I know there are better buggies but having the total package including starter box is very appealing to me.  After I learn more and if racing works out I may get a higher end buggy.
From what I have read the 8ightI is a good starter platform and the only immediate upgrades are the servos and going to a four shoe clutch.  I am going without birthday and fathers day presents so that I can get this for Christmas in hopes of racing next summer.
The track I will be racing at is in Tallahassee FL which is two hours away.  Sucks but there are no other nitro tracks close to me.
Have any of you raced the 8ight or raced against one?  If so what do you think?

I know this is petty but it comes with an orange head which I can't stand.  Hopefully I can find a head from king heads or nova.

I have a losi 8ight 1.0 that I race with.
The 2.0 has a longer wheel base and a few other changes.
I love it. It has been the best buggy I have ever owned.
I have had an ofna lx1 and a picco buggy.
The 8ight seems to be very well balanced. I also like the 4 shoe clutch. I run 2 carbon shoes and 2 aluminum.
The mixed clutch shoes give you a good snap off the line.
I'm using a modded OS VZ-B .21 and a dynamite 053 pipe.
Your 8ight comes with a losi 350 .21 and every losi motor I have used has made good power.
Good luck with the upcoming race season.

The 3.0 buggy has been released, not sure if it comes RTR..... Just a heads up, as the 2.0 may not be available by x-mas.

I noticed that squid.  I wish I could find out if there was going to be a 3.0 rtr.  Mayne that will be a good excuse to get it early.
