Homemade Center Diff Flux

Post by FluxLogic » Mon Jan 06, 2014 5:31 pm

Decided to go a different route with the Flux. I wanted thicker tvps that are longer but not as long as the XL. Also was interested in the CD setup. Going to try to use what I have instead of having to buy a lot of stuff to make this happen. I will be using an extra center diff i have from my RC8be. Chassis is going to be 30mm longer than the stock Flux HP, using the HP rear driveshaft in the front and a XL rear driveshaft in the rear.

Oh and I will be making the tvps from a Lexus SC400 aluminum bumper support haha.

Here it is drawn up and started.(how do i attach pics through site? It keeps saying- uploading empty file). Guess ill use photo bucket till i find out how.

Don't mind the toes in the pic.

Now for the center diff mount. Going to use the RC8be mounts.
ImageImage
Used the top diff plate and RC8 chassis to draw up and measure.
Image
More drilling and cutting to make it look a little better and take some weight off. Will do more later.

Will probably go with a different motor mount later. This one is just for measuring and mock up.

This is going to be the rear plate for the ESC. Going to use the Vorza esc mount to hold and protect haha. Mounted low and close to rear bulkhead. Trying to keep a low center of gravity.
Image
Heres the underside lightened, drilled, tapped for the vorza mount screws and the FLM braces that will hold it in place.Image
Top side.

Missing a screw.

Ended up using the flux motor plate braces. Used counter sunk screws underneath to keep flat and some for the fun of it on the sides.

Changed my mind on servo plate. Gonna make my own that's a little shorter and mount the steering servo to the TVP using Kings servo mounts and a homemade support.
