Umm a gallon dude....... try at least 2

Dont worry you can run that much in a weekend 8O  Mine just reached 2 gallons and its still a tiny bit tight so a little more time for me. Listen to what Robin tells you for break in, trust me it works!

I was just using the one gallon figure as a benchmark.  The Picco .28 in my basher took about 1 1/2 gallons to break in.  I would love to get it done in one weekend but it takes me a lot longer than that.  Without a doubt though I would listen to Robin especially on an engine he modded.

I saw those and they would be perfect but I asked my wife and she thought that would be too much.

I reinforced the roll bar last night in hope of better protecting the cooling head.  I will install linkage and begin break in after the engine and pipe arrive.   I originally thought the two speed transmission would suffice but after talking to Robin I believe I will need to do the modded three speed transmission.  I hope the two speed at least makes it through break in.

I will try and remember the video.  I also hope to video the first run after break in when my wife races my twelve year old.  Better driver vs. better machine.   After this one I will need to build one more and then we can force a monster truck class at the rc track.

Got a package from Robin in the mail today and I got right to work.  Its not 100% but I will finish soon.  I have a few small parts missing and need to install the linkage.  It has turned out well and just the way I wanted it to.  My wife likes it and is looking forward to driving it.
The extreme modded Picco .28 and the end bleed should are going to be a blast.  I have made a purchase from ERCM in the past and this time was the same experience.  Robin is a true professional and very thoughtful person/business owner.  When I first placed my order I had checked the wrong box or something.  Soon Robin called to go over my order with me and corrected my mistake.  A true pleasure dealing with ERCM.

Just wanted to post a few pictures of the almost finished product.

The fuel lines are pink even though they look purple in the picture.  If I hadnt named it Princess, Pinky tuskadero is coming to mind.  If you dont know that is she was a character on happy days.  Many years ago.

I would like to know how the badlands hold up. Do they balloon at high speed?

Yes they balloon.   I didn't think about taping them until after I had them glued.  I will probably tape my next set before gluing.

I started break in today.  The ERCM modded picco started easily and has been everything I expected and more.  I ran about a half gallon today and of course I was rich making sure temps were between 200-220F.  Even in these conditions you could tell there is crazy power inside there. Even with small bursts of the throttle the front end is coming off the ground.
When I started it I didn't know what to expect from the ERCM end bleed as I have only seen one on video.  I didn't think it was too loud but I wasn't driving it hard either.  There is a very distinctive metallic sound that is just to cool for words.  I can't imagine what it sounds like at wot.  Pretty cool I'll bet.
I haven't experimented with different shock set ups or oils but something else I noticed today was that this lst set up handles way better than my hpi bb.  The truck seems like its going to handle great.   As boring as break in is,  it was fun to finally drive this thing

I can tell from some of the videos including yours llkoolskillet and from Robins site that it is on the edge of too much power which is exactly what I wanted.

Have you thought about putting the 17mm hubs on your axles?

Bring more strength imo :)

Still awesome looking!

Isn't that based on the tire?  Some are 14 some are 17 and I think bajas are 23.  I don't remember what these are.  I have a few set of tires and I just use the appropriate nut for that tire.  Or am I missing something?  I have thought about the hub extensions to give a wider base but haven't done it yet.

I was able to run a few more tanks of break in today.  I got lost in my adjustments and started over.  I know piccos dont have factory settings but they send their needles flush and i keep track of what that is and write it in the manual.
I am liking the lst shocks so much I ordered a set for my basher.

Still working on my second gallon of break in.  I have installed the SV250 BP 3 speed tranny with mod.    I started driving it a little harder today and the whole set up is very impressive.  Tons of power and looks like it's going to be fast.  My wife has driven it a few times but is reluctant to give it to much throttle.  I think she is afraid something will break.  Its been fun.
