That steering linkage looks a bit lightweight for a brick like you're building. I used two Integy Jato shock ends and a cut-down M4 bolt to make the linkage for my Flux. Big, beefy, and much less slop than the stock plastic garbage link.
I may have to look at RCDamper's steering setup... it looks like it might work better with the FLM draglink than the Hot Racing set I have now that I had to use half of the stock plastic bellcrank with.

The Cen mid tank mod was very easy, with a couple extra chassis braces you can do it no prob.
I got the bracket fabbed up for the throttle servo and made some linkages.

I agree, the steering linkage can use some work, but I'm going to build something tonight to see what we can do...
And I get a lot of throw with the RCD C-Hubs, FLM drag and Hot Racing cranks. But for $100 I sure want to put the c-hubs to the test.

That is an awesome looking build, great job. I was wondering if you were worried about the tank being mounted up that high? I built my first extendo and used a cen 220 tank for the mid tank as well. I mounted it as low as I could possibly go and think the weight distribution is as good as it gets. I will include a link to my build for you to have a look at. If you wanted to mount that tank lower this may be an option you would like to try.
I am in no way trying to get this thread off topic, I am just adding a link for ease of you seeing what I am talking about. I built 2 trucks, the second one being a stainless steel tvp onroad savage. Let me know if you have any questions or need any better pictures if you are interested. I love what you are doing looks very professional, kudos.

Are you really going to use the hitec 7955tg servo for your throttle/brake? If so thats SUPER overkill and you will end up bending and braking things. I used a 222oz savox servo like that and I bent the crap out of my linkage. I would suggest a servo with 100 or so ounces of torque, there is no need for more than that.
You can also flip your steering posts and mount the tank with the pick up in the rear. Servo will also have to switch sides.
Oops pipedups thread covers that^^^

Here are some detailed pictures of what needs to be done and how I made it work, should you decide to change it around.

Not at all, that truck is sweet just the way it is. I was just showing the mounting/modding involved with dropping that tank down low. One thing to keep in mind if you run it up higher is once you prime the engine, it will want to gravity feed due to the elevation difference. The tune will be more consistent with it higher, you just have to be ready to start the engine once it's primed and pull the fuel line off the carb and let it drain back to the tank once the engine shuts off, and your set

LOL, no worries. I wanted to redesign my 2.5" extended TVP's that I had made so one night pipedup came over and we drew them up. You can talk to him for a set, my plate is a little full at the moment.

I too am concerned about your steering linkage
You are relying only on the grub screws to keep your linkage from moving.

Strongly suggest you go back to ball links.

I love my cen/mugen midtank. If I pull the line from the carb fuel will gravity feed out of it. I had to completely retune the engine when I went to this setup and it took a little while. I think I ended up doing over a full turn on both needles. It runs awesome, very consistant tune.
As for the steering linkage 2 tie rod ends or shock ends with balls and cut a bolt to length. Heres a pic of my first midtank. Ignore the throttle/brake linkage, it didn't work well at all.

Those are the patented Dragaonbat13 mounts!!!
Thanks for all the feedback guys, lots of things I hadnt thought about being my first savage.
With the parts I had laying around, i made this steering linkage:

I honestly didnt think anything of the tank being high, but looking and thinking about it, the tank could definably be dropped.

(although it looks a little long but that could just be the angle of the photo?)

It is long, had to switch the servo around to make it work with the parts I had. I'm going to make a trip to a LHS to pick something else up, but I'm a lot happier with this setup compared to the first one

you could always just take a bit off the end of each ball joint to make it a little shorter?
once you have the final length sorted you can then thread lock it all together.
