I'll have to load the video. It was right near the end of the pull the bone melted and you hear it just spool up and the truck just kept going lol no brakes. Somehow it landed upside down too.

My next venture is to try one motor out with 34/35 gearing and see what happens. Should loose 3-4lbs in weight doing so. My thinking is that if a stock hpi 2200 motor paired with HW pro ESC on 6s can pull 125mph in a vorza just shy of 10lbs I should be able to do the same in theory.

I wonder if you could use an MIP X-Duty splined driveshaft for the Revo in place of the dogbone? you'd have to drill out the ends to 6mm and 8mm, respectively, but you should have no issues doing that. I just don't know about the length.

If this had happened before your new chassis, I would have suggested flipping the motors to have the diff at the rear, so you could run a shorter shaft and use something like an Axial Wraith MIP shaft.

Got a few options to try now for the single motor setup. First im going to try the Leopard 1600kv with 34/35 gearing, then im going to try my new motor, Poseidon 1717-C22, its a large 2200kv motor. They just hit the market and a few guys that have tried them have gone pretty darn fast with them. Of course Ill be using my Turnigy Nanotechs and the New Turnigy A spec G2's. Pretty stoked to see what happens.

That poseidon motor looks very promising. What does it weigh? Pretty high KV value for such a big motor, but for your application it's perfect I guess. Now you got me thinking of trying one in my Castle 1717 powered Slash 4x4 LCG buggy :)

Would like to see two of them on your Savage :)

Stumbled over something on ebay that might be interesting for you:
http://ebay.com/itm/171344523781

It's an adaptor that allows standard Traxxas Revo spur gears to be used as a pinion on a motor. Available for 3,5,6 and 8mm shafts. There are Revo spurs available from 34t up to 42t from Traxxas and several after-market companies, so lots of options to choose from. It's made of aluminum, when used with a plastic spur it should be a lot lighter than a standard steel pinion.

Believe it or not I'm actually making one for ascender and myself when he found the actual guy who makes them. $20 is a very good price and I just got two 40t spurs to try.

I was going to try two of the motors but I figure I'd try one first.

Gearing up to run 8s thru a single leopard 1600 with 36/35 gearing. Ive already proved 100mph is possible on 6s even with a super tight mesh which resulted in a fried motor and esc. I also took off the rear wing, something tells me that its really slowing me down. We shall find out soon what happens :)
