You must have some stumps in your yard you need to pull out of the ground.

I know you have two right flux chassis plates you used on your nitro truck. It looks like you could use two lefts for this project.

I like when an RCer goes mad in terms of power! This is going to be a funny project :D

Yes two left sides is what I need. I do have some new standard flux TVPs coming but I would of loved to use the TCS plates. However you can't cause the screw holes are counter sunk. There are a few ideas running around in my head for TVP style. The biggest issue is mounting the motors so there spaced out enough to mesh properly and not touch.

This thread is not just for the flux. Just look what I need to do to build a flux to take on an ERCM picco! Imagine what two ERCM Piccos are capable of

Yes for the flux it will be 25/46t the nitro I'm hoping for something around 22/26t or 22/25t

How do you plan on getting that gearing on nitro without the engines touching? Snookman had a cool idea how he reversed his engines and added a gear between the engines so the bells spin a gear that spins the spur/pinion. Adding the gear means the trans still rotates the proper way even though the engines are backwards. I don't think there is enough room for that on a savage though. I'm planning on a twin build myself. I thought of angling the engines away from each other so the cluches can be close together without the tops of the engine touching but decided it would be too hard to make a plate with an angle in it but might still change my mind and have one made. Right now i'm thinking of just cutting the inner side of the cooling tops down 'til the crank cases are touching to get the smallest possible gearing but I thing something like 22/35 is the smallest I figure will fit. I'm not trying to build a top speed monster but hoping for something with flux like torque that with the right gearing will do 65-75 mph but still have the torque to wheelie and maybe do a standing backflip with low gearing (I saw a savage x with a stock 4.6, terra pins and 13/52 gearing do one so i'm sure a twin engine can too).

You have to make custom motor mounts, I do plan on cutting the sides of the cooling heads down and angling the carbs. Look up the hotbodies truckzilla big twin. That is where most of the inspiration has come from as for as how to set the truck up. Now if I have to angle the motors slightly, that's easy for me as I work in a sheet metal shop. One way or another it will be built. The hardest part of the entire build is the motor mount and plate. Everything else is the same.

The flux build will be much much more difficult to build than the nitro. But I'm not done with single engine nitro to start building the twin.

My goal is to have both platforms that can hit 100mph

I have looked at many pics of the twinzilla as well as the new era twin kit for inspiration. I already have a tvp designed and am about to cut it out of some thin wood interior panels and mock everything up. My trans is dropped considerably to allow a smaller spur and i'm mounting the engines to the plate with these http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... w-Hardware . I'm thinking more and more of angling the engines now. I have a machinest friend to make the engine plate and chassis but if I angle the engines it means more machine work and he says he only has a manual cnc (I don't realy know what that means). If I have to I can contact alza racing about making the angle engine mount. I'm going to make a complete wooden prototype chassis and mount and make sure everything will work before having anything made.

This is my TVP design for the flux, my TVP design for the nitro is just take the cf ones and cut them to allow the motors to sit in there

when making your own TVP, try adding some anti-squat to the rear. It will help put the power to the ground instead of wheelies.

You mean making the rear more level instead of angled up a bit?

yes, it will give you the rear kick-up aka the anti-squat.

The rear is already level on a savage. for anti squat you angle the rear in a way that the rear bulk gets lower in the back.
