Anybody seen this custom BL conversion finished..

Post by skipstr71 » Wed May 27, 2009 8:57 am

about 3 years ago I built this set up for a guy, I think he was from Holland. He was the dude to know for a hot set up. I'd like to hear how his concept worked out... My guess is the tranny could not stay together with the torque and raw power he had planned.  Both side of the TVPs were LiPo's he had wired series or something nuts ...  Im not sure. His center diff BL sav he had made wicked power and  would easily make a stock RTR look like a tyco that needs a charge. Anyways this is what he was shipped over 3 years ago... Anyone? Anyone?

Oh (insert foot in mouth)... and do these conversion kits use the nitro savage tranny...?  Thats what I was wondering... Not that I would use it but interesting to hear about its pro & cons.

I guess the first pic was a few holes short of what I meant by done... Heres a finished view.

no it did not use the nitro tranny, it is the same case, but it is locked, no shifting. shifting would destroy it in a hurry.
have a look around the site, search the savage FLUX, it is very impressive. also youtube has some nice video's, wheelie's at 40-50mph.
are you looking to build a brushless conversion again? also I cant tell by the pic, if the motor is adjustable. it has to be though or you would never be able to set the gear mesh.

Well these days everyone and their cat has a brushless truck of some kind, but for three years ago, I bet that was *censored* smokin'! I can't say I ever remember seeing that particular e-savage though.

And with regards to your signature: NO! Not until you restart TT  :D  Man I know so many people who would be in the market for some nice extended LCG tvps to fit the Flux

It may be done now, but people would pay good money for a Twisted Toys chassis. If you don't know who Casey and TT were.... well..

And besides, who said there could only be one manufacturer? I welcome as many options as possible.

Yeah.. SC newbie here..  I was asking who and how that chassis set came about.. in the first pic. Because I had a customer come here to make one of those.. trying to find the history behind it.
