My BAD lil Esavage

Post by budleyh » Thu Mar 31, 2011 3:58 am

i got this rig in a trade all stock. had a few issuses so i tore it apart . first thing was the ESC was fryed! i wasnt to *censored* cuz i knew i was gonna go brushless. i did like how short it was so ?agot a plate of t6061 aircraft alumin(and if you know me i had to do it). took me bout 8 hours of cutting and filing , i dont think it turned out too bad, the "CS" stands for Crawler Shed.extended the whell base another 4 inches, not bad. then i am always twisting cetner drive shafts, i have did this before on my other "E monster" i bought another set of F350 HighLift Shafts cut them and rewelded a peice of Solid 3/16 stell in them. no i have good center shafts. the body i bought for a buddy of mine, the wheels are off tMaxx and the tires are new imex j7 2.8 stretched over the wheel. looks mean. mamba max and a traxxas 3500KV motor with an 3s lipo holy crap she flew. the kid next door (well hes 32YRS OLD) i guess hes not a kid like my truck that he went spend 750 on a flux and this thing keeps right up with it...not bad for total investment of bout 150.... well haeres some pics

That is sick bo. how heavy is it compared to his flux? just wondering cause I would think that 3500 would get hot.

the 3500 vxl on 3s is marginal for the e-savage especially with those big tyres
shouldnt run it but it does for a while
the vxl is a very torquey little motor (for a traxxas product)
anything more will blow the weak little diffs very fast
believe me i have been there many times still have one sitting in bits in the shed

awesome fun while they run and at least a kg lighter than flux which maens better accelleration and longer runtimes

and they do bounce really well too but diffs and driveshafts are the weak points

honestly from a long term e-savage owner/ modifier save your money and get a flux 2350 or hp

check out e-savage.com forums for the full lowdown on the e-savage

its not like your big savage and you would spend a lot to keep it running

at least if you buy a flux most of the parts are the same as your x or similar

or check out the new savage xs if you want something smaller
