Ok thanks ..I ordered the baja rear paddles (4) and they should fit I hope..
Ok next question ? So now that I have rims to fit and I won't run paddles often how hard is it to switch out the paddles to something else like proline bowties ? Just loosen up screws and swap or will I risk damage to rim ?

Yes you can unscrew the wheels and change over to another set of tyres but it's not quick and easy job plus over time you can weaken the hole you are screwing into if you happen to over tighten them too often. If your budget allows I would buy another pair of wheels and mount the other set of tyres on them so you can change them over quick when needed.

I just ordered these for my Flux XL and some 23mm adapters. Just a shot in the dark for a newbie.

The 23mm thing just adds to everyone's confusion.  I'm running 24mm HPI conversion, and 24mm Rovan Baja wheels (look like desperados).  Now, if you switch up wheels, you have to watch that you get 23mm.  I had been trying to figure out Pro-lines "23mm" and wondered if it was a typo.  Love my 24mm, the fit is so precise on both my Rovan version and the real deal Bajas on my 5B.
75 RCs and counting...

Even if its not a typo hes going to have to wrap them with metal tape to make them fit properly with the 24mm baja wheels

drpower did PM me and asked why i said i used 24mm hexes when on the website it said use 23mm.
I did say it was just a typo and i gave a link with the 24mm hpi hex conversion on it.
On the ebay shop that he bought the wheels off it said use 23mm so thats just another typo i guess.

Is anyone using (4) front wheel/tires from 5T ?
It's width is slightly narrower than rear 5B but wider than front 5B.

xxgg, I've got a set of 4 HPI 5T wheels.

The are the best bare none for speed runs but no good for anything else. They are too rigid and break the suspension during cartwheeling crashes. The larger height amplify's crash loadings due to the increased mechanical advantage.
There are no part throttle questions - only full throttle answers

Sorry for the thread digging, I see most guys run baja wheels, how does the stock xl engine handle them and will I be able to put 1/5 mt tyres on like the blackout runs?

Thanx!

You need to gear down at least two teeth on the cb to run these wheels.

Hahaha...

It's been exactly 3 years since I have asked a question in this thread.

3 years later, I have finally ordered 5th scale wheels & 24mm hex hub.  :)

My final question is...  gearing (spur/pinion) combination should I run?  (I run both 4S & 6S too)

Thanks :D
