Need wheels for my 3.2 mashers

Post by dragonbat13 » Sun Mar 10, 2013 7:42 pm

Ok Ill ask this first,

Are the RPM Revolvers any good?  Seems as though I heard they werent up to the same level as some of their other parts.

What I want is a set of wheels that will look as close to a full size monster truck wheel as possible.  I dont like offset wheels so they need to be standard if possible.

I've had the RPM Revolvers and I never had a problem with them aside from the chrome flaking off over time and much abuse.  It didn't affect the wheel structurally so I didn't care personally.  Keep the wheel nuts tight, like you would with any other wheel, and expect that if you bash hard the chrome will flake off.  Otherwise a great wheel IMO.

Oh yea, the wheels will be black.

I read a couple of other places where the revolvers would break.  BUT,  I really believe that the wheel mounting isnt up to snuff when that happens.

Right now, those are what I am leaning towards.  Its either those, the RPM Tech fives that I know will hold up because I use them, or the HPI wheels off of the X.

I also wouldnt doubt if the offset wheels have more of a tendency to break due to side loading.

You mean these?

Those would look pretty snazzy, or possibly these

I kinda like the first one better though.

I also though about maybe some dish wheels.  Kind of a dirt track car look.  I never ran dish wheels before.

I know I said I wanted to look sorta scale, but after seeing these last two I am down with anything.  Gonna think about these three or some other options anybody else has, but I really like the HPI ones at the top.

I was wondering why I havent seen those wheels on anything lately.  It seems like everything that I like has an issue of some sort.

I want to stay with a 17mm hex, so I will either use the Terra pins wheels in black, or find a good dish wheel.
