Wow, I don't know how I missed this thread. I'm Don, I am 49 years old from south Mississippi but spent 15 years of my life in Southern California. I have 2 grown kids a boy and a girl 26 and 28 and 3 Grandkids. I am self employed, I sell and service industrial woodworking machinery with background in Hydraulics and pneumatics. I also build computers "desktops" and repair PCs for my friends and family. I got into RCs because it is fun and when i am out bashing or working on one of my trucks all the worries of the day go away.

Hello all
I'm jimmy 36 y/o from Tennessee but original from Puerto Rico. Went to school for avionics technician then joined the Navy in 2000 and worked there as a Aviation Support Equipment tech. till 2007. Worked for a Bell Textron service station (ecolift) in PR as a Avioncs tech doing complete rebuilds/customization/modernization on different types of aircrafts but mostly United Nations bell 212 until 2010. Now I just completed a 20 month long machine tool class from Tennessee College of applied technology (TCAT) last August  and I'm happy to say that I'm a certified machinist and a stay at home dad lol. Have two kids 8 and 5 and my wife just finished her Phd.

Hello Central. Boyd Ingram from Glen Burnie, MD. Turned 51 this year, but still having loads of fun in life. Used to race 1/10 elex years ago (used to dump 7 cell nicads with a 12 turn double, geared for 4 minute races  :D ), with an original (but highly modified) RC10T and an RC10 Graphite. Just converted my SS 4.6 to Castle brushless / 4S. OMG, this thing is fast. Anyways, long time stalker, small time poster. I've been working on aircraft as a line mechanic for the last 30 years. Work on Boeing 757, 767, 747 for UPS, yeah, the brown trucks.

Thanks for all the knowledge posts on this forum. I've learned a lot and you guys really helped me do my conversion.

Hi  my name is Justin im 31 yrs old I have a degree in IT web/programming analysis. The savage x 4.6 RTR 2013 model is my first RC of any kind really. I bought it back in march.... and after the break in/figure 8 process, I asked my self what the *censored* had I been doing all this time not messing with nitro rc's..... ive already put over a gallon through it, I just cant get enough. The down side is there doesn't seem to be anyone in the area to bash with.

I will say this site has been huge source of knowledge to which I am extremely greatful for lol.

*censored* now I feel old. 44-years old. I have worked in the computer software industry for 20 years so am one of those rare guys whose more technical than his teenage son--but he's catching up. My 'specialty' is software architecture (designing interfaces/protocols specifically), but have been in a leadership role for 10+ years now--so my employees do the real work and try to keep me away from doing anything hands-on anymore. ;-)

Unlike most of you I know nothing about 1:1 cars. Nothing. Really don't know anything about 1/8 vehicles but trying to learn. When I was 19 I built an electric rc vehicle that I received as a gift during Christmas. Had fun with it...ran it in the rain once and it stopped working. I think my parents sold it in a garage sale years later or who knows. Years later I started getting my son rc cars (beginning with Nikko stuff). One day we were camping and saw a 'gas-powered rc car' and said 'THAT'S what we need!' and have been full throttle since.

Hi, I am 42 years old, ASE certified Mechanic. I have my own small shop and I also work in the oilfield. I played around with nitro for years and finally decided to try electric. So far I love it. Already sold my Nitro T-Maxx because I have stopped using it altogether lol. I just recently seen that HPI now has a gas powered Savage? I may have to own one of those. I think I am going to end up spending more on this hobby, then I do on my full sized truck and car hobby!

Heya from Houston, Texas. My name is Jupiter, 53. Am in IT but, a gear head at heart. Had many buggies through the years both gas and electric, planes and boats too but, life and bigger toys took precedence. Recently started thinking of a hobby i could get my 32 year old son involved in so, while he and the gran kids were in town this past 4th of July holiday, i went out and picked up a couple of Savage XL's for us to play with. WOW!

I hadn't seen that smile since he last drove my classic car after tranny upgrade 'T56 six speed'
Anyhow, wow these things are amazing. Coolest car i ever owned before was a tricked out Kyosho Inferno. Lucky for me my son and the kids will be back in town this weekend, W00T. He's going with the orange theme. Mine is blue but will be changed to black and red to match my 1982 Trans Am.

Hi everyone, I'm Teeds, 30.

I'm a software engineer/web developer/multimedia specialist/E-learning expert... and I love nitro! It's got just the right amount of challenge and complexity to keep me entertained and satisfied!

I've had a few crappy RCs when I was young (like the ones that could only go forward straight or reverse while turning left!)... and then last year I "scored" two used Redcat Racing nitro RCs (the cheapest buggy available and a MT). Two weeks later, I was breaking in my new Savage X 4.6 RTR and I've just been having as much fun running it than taking it completely apart ever since!

Thanks to this community for steering into the right path, just imagine, I could have been collecting stamps instead!

I am 31 years old.

I am the office manager/Estimator/IT guy/everything to do with technology at a disaster restoration company. I am 100% nitro.

I grew up driving everything team associated. From buggies to on road touring cars. We made our own batteries and motor were rated in turns not kV. Took a break for a number of years and now that I have kids of my own I want to get back in, but nitro for me. Ill probably still start the kids out on electric. I have a savage x 4.6, a Hot Bodies D8T, and an Agama A8 Evo.
