Custom upgrade parts for Savage Titanium/Steel/Duralumin

Post by idk2 » Thu Aug 06, 2015 2:57 pm

Hello guys!
My plans are to create durable and lightweight upgrades for my and my friends Savage. Most of the things is already done.

1. The first things I started doing was a titanium TVP (frame) for Savage XL, and associated parts.
2. Second, Suspension arms from titanium analog to Flextek
3. Lightened carbon bodyshell ~300gr, vs Fiberglass ~900gr. for Savage XL
4. Extra hard (60-65 HRC tool Steel) wheel axle, diff shaft and other cups, harder than stock HPI
5. Universal savage bulkhead from duralumin or POM/PA6, easy to disassemble. (almost done)
6. Central diff/motor mount from duralumin for Titanium TVP (almost done)
7. Rear Hub Carrier and Steering Knuckle with enhanced bearing 8x19x6, from duralumin or POM/PA6
8. Bumper/Shock from POM/PA6

7, 8 is not yet ready

1. Advantages of TVP
a. Mutch more durable and lighter than most analogs.
b. The location of the battery inside the frame, for even weight distribution, greater reliability, and better battery protection.
c. The ability to set almost any size servo (also 1/5th +), on either side
d. Optional installation of buggy roof

2. Advantages of Suspension arms.

a. Easy to disassemble to replace diff, bevel gear and bearings.
b. Compatible with 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 or bigger :P

6. Advantages of Central diff/motor mount.
a. Lighter than most analogs
b. Compatible with many motors 1/8 also Castle 1717 (1717 not recommended because of the large weight)
c. Ease of backlash adjustment with one screw

Almost...
This exclusive details, I can make detail on order.
I can not make one item, for order need a few people, or it will be unreasonable price. Titanium parts are very expensive about 10 times as compared with aluminum. Now I'm waiting for one more person who wants frame (TVP). Central diff/motor mount produced separately.
I have one set of "light wheel axle" in hands,

I believe you can easily get more than 10 people for awesome products like yours.

I am more interested in the bulkhead and item no 7 (Rear Hub Carrier and Steering Knuckle with enhanced bearing 8x19x6, from duralumin or POM/PA6).

Can't wait to place the order. Let me know when its ready. Do update us :)

Hello guys! i have a approximate price for the bulckhead, made out of Aluminium. If the order is 1-19 bulckheads then the price will be 240 dollars per bulckhead But if we can manage to order more then 20 pcs then the price per bulckhead will be 150dollars per bulckhead. (The prices is included shipping cost).
And this will be a limited order since it is expensive to order small quantities.
So how many are interested?

Yikes double the cost of FLM bulks. Why should I pay twice as much for these vs FLM bulks or Alza bulk head braces? Have you even produced one or is that 150 per bulk the cost to be on the first production run?

If 150, the price is not that bad considering the easy access and bigger bearing capability. Btw, what type of aluminum are you going to use?

No have not yeat produced them. The price will be 150 per bulckhead on the first run if it is more then 20 pcs ordered in total.
And the pluss side of the bulckhead is that it can be used to make a 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 or bigger, and as far as i know noone makes them now.

Not yet, very expensive to made parts 1-3, no wishing for big order, if I do it will post photo, maybe in 2-3 months idk.
I do not intend to borrow, or to invest their money in the hope that someone will buy it.

Soon ship wheel axle in the USA, there were problems in the production, one man waiting it.

besides, satellites housing now manufacturing. *new project. (Alloy/Steel)

D16 (in Russia) - 2024 analog, I do not use another.
Cost today $26, but will change depending on currency

Good day,

I would like to enquire about the XL wheel axles? How much does it cost? I would like to get one so I can use a legitimate 17mm hex hubs.

Thanks
