Hey can you post a picture of the assembly cause I am stuck. When finished is there still room to locktite the bolt at the end? Cause since i got my truck on xmas the pinion gear and the clutch assembly have been coming loose and I have not used this truck for more than 10 minutes!

I used all the slipper parts from my old Jato and used the nylon traxxas spur gear everthing works great lots of slipper pad to work with not a thin lil paper and the open design helps keep things cool

Im having some slight spur gear wobble, not sure why, everything seems tight. Im running with the Kershaw Designs HD Slipper it has worked great and its on there pretty tight. maybe too tight? Any ideas as to why im getting some wobble from the spur?
Thanks

Been using the Kershaw setup for a couple years now and works well and cheap! Have owned the savage since it first came out ways back and the slipper has always been a problem area either to loose or to tight.

Hi.

Slipper Locker (SL) is for locking the spur completely and many are driving with SL without problems.
It's ment for drivers who don't want the slipper to slip.

this set up is great, I've installed mine last fall, i haven't adjusted since then, two weeks ago my pinion got loose, but other than that, this was a great set up.

The Robinson slipper is the way to go if you want a real working and adjustable slipper

I got the robinson racing slipper on my savage 1/5 conversion but I am not sure if its set right.  Does it need a break-in period?  I seem to get a lot of slippage and even when fully compressed.

Should one fully tighten or fully tighten then let off 1/4 a turn on newer Savage Flux HPs?

This thread is from 2009, when the problem was prominent Maybe now, 6 years later , HPI has resolved the slipper clutch issue in newer models.
Same as they did with the battery bay in newer models.
