Summit body on Savage XL

Post by Beardedsavage » Sun Feb 08, 2015 10:57 am

So I installed the xl chassis on my savage and am currently running the stock xl body on it but I really like the look of the Proline Apocalypse body for the summit so I wanted to see if the Summit body would fit on the savage so I did all the measurements and it seems like it would fit good. Luckily my local hobby shop had a used Summit I could use the body for fitment. So I found that the front posts could be flipped around and raised up and they fit fine. Now the back posts I used the longer posts that came with the savage but the posts were too far apart for the Summit body holes so I cut the center of the post brace and drew it in with zip ties for now til I make a permanent mount but it fits really good and now I ordered the Apicalypse body and Exocage and fenders for it and am just waiting for them. So what do you think of it?

Yeah I've seen some others run Summit body on the savage but never really saw how they did the mounts. And yes the body with the cage is gonna take some serious abuse. Now I see in your pic there are no holes cutout anywhere on the body are you running that on a nitro savage or the electric?

Thanks I willl. Yes I see that you didn't need more holes for mounting I meant as far as ventilation for a nitro engine as mine is nitro so I'll cutout the front windows when I get mine and probably just cutout a round hole on top for the glow igniter.

Well I got my body mount all done and got the body in and painted. Overall I'm really happy with it but I could be happier with the paint but whatever here it is.

That is one of the sickest looking bodies I've seen on a savage, despite it not being my cup of tea. I have to give you props and respect for that ish! Please throw up more pics man  :D
