Exhaust upgrade?

Post by crazy_golf » Sat Apr 25, 2015 6:59 pm

Hi do you know if i would notice any realy difference with this exhaust.

http://apuw.c.blog.so-net.ne.jp/_images ... 4.jpg?c=a0

Over the stock hpi polished pipe? They look the same size but peering into the stinger its clear there completely differnt inside. Would the tsais one be louder? Thanks

Sorry forgot to say on a stock f4.6 engine . Also noticed the coupling is different not sure if this would provide a better / worse seal or a difference in turbulance

Ah ok thanks. I know tsais also do a pipe with a long stinger that curves round that does not have great reviews. Ill put it on for a test soon

The difference between the tsais and the hpi polished is night and day. The truck now growls instead of the tinny sound it used to make, and its realy opened up the top end! Very happy.

Makes me wonder what sort of difference a high end pipe like an ercm would make.

95% of the people who rave about them are comparing it to stock, which is not much of a comparison. Plenty of EFRA pipes for less coin can get down just as much--if not more.

You should do a google search of the ERCM pipe before you take advice from someone who has never owned one. Kind of hard to knock a product if you haven't tried it, just saying.

You can search it right here. I own a couple. Sold one.

I like the endbleed on my picco, but sold my side bleed. My picco performs better on the 086 then on the sidebleed.

I dont know what your budget is or time constraints. Sounds like youre happy with the taisis.

Simply stating facts. Thats why i sold it.

What i hate is blind product loyalty (any product)

Again that was the sidebleed.

the Novarossi 9886 is the best pipe for the LRP 32 as far as I can tell..I have dyno tested quite a few pipes and nothing so far matches the 9886......also to add the OFNA 086 did pretty good too.....has slightly  more initial power and slightly less top power..

What header are y'all using for Nova / Werks / Ofna pipes? I tried fitting up a few different pipes I had laying around (OS2060, Nova 9856, JP-3). The header pipe on all of them hit the rear shock tower....

Is griding required to get them to fit, or is a specific header needed to run a buggy/truggy style pipe on a Savage?

so yes ..I had to grind the header of the OFNA 086 to fit and when I ran the 9886 I used a RB Para VSM manifold which did not require any grinding to fit....

Oh, okay....didn 't really think that was knocking it, but I'll tell ya---I've just been WAITING for you to start woofin' like this, so okay..I'll engage. Happy to: (Don't worry Squid, just going to respond here once .)

PureNitro, Let me see if I get this straight...you think givin gan unbiased opinion that there are EFRA pipes that cost less and are just as good if not better is "knocking it??'

No I don;t own one (they are not worth the money, IMO), I do have 15+ unique pipes, and my neighbor (who is on this forum and echos my sentiments ) has an ERCM so I've seen them side by side in the same engine multiple times.

I can also rattle off 10+ other guys I know of (four on this forum alone--SV250 makes it five on here now) who have an ERCM along wiith some other pipes that cost less and they will tell you exactly posted.
