Finally mounted ... Can't wait to get the Ti shafts for my XXL shocks - they'll look better with this body.

My badlands tyres on Desperados arrived this morning and so to did my Replacement Ti shock shafts, diff gears and new steel spur. Amain is awesome - I went the cheapest shipping option ($15) and the parts arrived to my door within 7 days!

I'll get the shocks together and put my IRC kit back on the truck and take some 'on-site' 1/8 scale shots as well as some vid of the final tune

Think I've finally got the tuning right, burnt through the last of the 25% nitro - switching to 30% next run. Idling low - no hang time. Beast power all over but get occasional bog at full throttle even when running rich. Which I thought was the fuel nipple being exposed to air when the fuel is slushing about. but through process of elimination I now think it has to be the air filter.

I'll post the vid tomorrow.

How is the filter the culprit? When doing the fuel relocation mod I never got lean bog issues up until the fuel was below the fuel nipple. It would also get that hollow lean sound under hard braking. Once again both would happen when the fuel was at a low level. Something isn't right. Looking forward to that video.

More hoping filter because I haven't cleaned it for 3 runs. The other thing is that it happens intermittently and occurred 3 times during the 2 hour run and I was running rich which is why I was thinking filter. The annoying part is I was actually starting to have fun with it because I was getting the tuning dialled in.

Vid.... It was running great and had to edit it because it was a 20+min vid.. For hearing the bogging please look at the latest three vids I posted before this one. I'm not sure if it's lean or rich bogging TBH.

But like I said bogging was intermittent. If you have lean or rich bog i would think it would show up more consistently. And I was running quite rich and idle was very good???

Look forward to any further advice.

Ok. So after more analysis I think I'm slightly rich on LSN and possibly slightly lean on HSN ... But I feel *censored* close and I'm talking only 1/32 of a turn on both.

That's my best guess until I run it again. Final tune comin up on 30% amigos!

yeah you can hear that the hsn hangs slightly in the beginning. Towards the end you were getting closer as the hang was still subtle but not as long. Richen up the HSN a hair, lean the LSN a smidgen, then lower the idle a wee bit. LOL

what is the clutch and pipe setup on that ? what gearing ? and what tranny ?   doesn't quite as aggressive down low as the earlier videos.....but still running nice with a proper relaxed idle....

and yes bogging can be from fuel pickup issues....the fuel systems on these is very crude and prone to inconsistent behavior.....

hard to tell tune as your not really doing much other then some short throttle bursts.... but for what your doing it seems about right, wouldn't want it any leaner....an d it shows good smoke... if you started doing wide open long distance runs you see how good the HSN setting is.....but what your doing there you barely going beyond burning out the fuel your loading up in the case at idle so your nowhere near the HSN..........by guess your operating at roughly 20 000 RPM tops....for what your doing the tune is good, but I would expect a huge shift towards lean if you started doing longer wide open passes.....

Thanks for your advice fellerz. Jedi, I sent you a PM last night but it's still sitting in my outbox for some dumb reason!

Clutch - HPI purple weighted shoes/1mm springs (haven't installed the buku yet) - I could remove the weights so clutch engages sooner? Nova 9886 pipe and 41001 mani, 47/17 gearing, 2 speed tranny...

I'll take a vid of longer WOT passes so you can check it out.

Hey Sinist3r, thanks Squid.

Moved house... Needed more space for the family. Big yard and garage  :D and just got back into the Savarossi.

Fitted new blue caps and Ti shafts to the rebuilt Losi shocks. Lowered the truck a further 1.5cm and fitted the badlands. I'll post some final pics/vid when I run it next weekend and close down my marathon post.
