OK, the towers are twisted-toys but he is working a 7 day a week job right now so he isnt making any rc stuffs at the moment..

What he had machined was the towers to fit the X bulks

bhakj When Twisted Toys made the towers the Savage X bulks weren't realeased. SO when the finally were his towers couldn't work due to some clerance issues. SO I went to his place and he put them on the mill and shaved off the interference areas.

lcashman The towers are Twisted Toys Buggy racer towers made out of Delrin. Like Zoom said he's working hard right now, so no rc for the time being.

basher101 I know right?! Thanks for the compliment. I at least want this truck to keep up with the truggys. The main purpose is to be a Revo killer.

If HPI (or RPM for that matter) released a cheaper plastic version of this I would be the first to get it.
What do you think of my mid-tanked sts savage

Sicj,

I am running the same setup up as you and got my kit today. Do you have to take any material off the TT Towers?

Yes, especially the rear carrier hubs! Nice to eliminate the tie-rods.

I don't understand why they didn't do the rear hubs like that to begin with. I know it was probably to keep costs down from fewer molds. I agree plastic would have been nice and prob lighter not to mention cheaper. I assemled the kit with no problems except grinding the some of the diff like scji point out. I was use some Savage X lower A-Arms and the rear shock mount has to be cut away to clear at full lock.
The kit seems very pricey: 139.00 and it seems like an intern designed it with the grinding you have to do and lose of the front rear shocks. I am running 4 buggy shocks , so it doesn't matter to me. They suggest 50wt oild in the 2 front shocks if you are running the stock ones.
Have yet to drive it. Hopefully this weekend and hopefully with it will rovide a nice handleing improvent.
