hey guys. ?i got a used savage kit kind of. ?my buddy gave me two savages....in piece's. ?so i put together a savage X chassis with XL axle's. ?it has RPM upper and lower arms in the front, and upper RPM arms in the rear. ?does anyone know if the XL extended axle's are enough of an offset for the wheels to clear the shocks? ?i already bought the LST shocks, and since these are the only shocks I have, i'm going to the hardware store to see what i can do to get the shocks mounted, any suggestions? ?I read the posts above about the 6mm spacer's ect...

here are the wheels i ordered, in case it matters... http://hotbodiesonline.com/products/en/hb61169.html

Edit: i tried adding pictures, but i must be doing something wrong...

Yeah the XL axles should provide enough offset to clear the shocks OK, they are at least equal to 1/2 offset, maybe even more. As for those wheels, you might want to consider returning them if you haven't used them yet as HB wheels are very weak and you'll probably end up cracking or breaking the hexes on them. Just a suggestion. There are much better wheels and tires out there.

I like this LST shock mod alot it looks AWSOME   but there is a couple of questions about the suspention geometry. when you move the shock to the rear or the front of the a arm the impact force will be twisting on the a arms. As before the impact force was strait up to the shock tower.

Its just an observation but before I throw more money at my truck can someone that uses this mod tell if there is a performace gain with the LSTs over stock. or has anyone had any problems ? I havent seen any......all good stuff from what I read.

Sure, any single shock mod will alter the geometry till you have an imbalance but as long as you have X generation towers, everything is stiff enough so that it doesn't matter at all. Big bores, Cen shocks, whatever all mount in the same way regarding that.

Performance over stock shocks? Yeah I'd say. Assuming you are talking about the original skinny 8 shock setup, I love my LSTs over them. Very plush ride without being overly soft. Damping is exceptionally smooth, you have so much oil that it's real silky. Also generally 4 shock setups will be better than 8 because you have less of everything, so less things to buy, maintain and go wrong. 4 Springs introduce less variables and will respond better than 8. Same for dampers.

There are still problems. LSTs + mounts are quite a bit heavier than a single set of big bores, for example so if light-weight is your thing, look elsewhere. And they get problems like bent/broken shafts just as much as other shocks.

Good to hear. IRC can sometimes be slow to get stuff done.. he also seems to have supply problems.

As for photos, use a website like photobucket and you can show photos using the IMG tags.

i had to email Robert at IRC on 3 different email accounts before getting a response. ?and all i got was a weak apology for the delay. ?i ordered it on the 16th of march...it is now the 30th, and i still haven't received the kit. ?i have a tracking number, but it hasnt been updated in a week. ?

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM INNOVATIVE RC AGAIN. ?SLOWEST SHIPPING. ?I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE NEW ERA KIT. ?

IS THERE A "GOOD GUY/BAD GUY" SECTION ON HERE? ?BECAUSE IRC IS GETTING A LOT OF FREE ADVERTISING ON HERE. ?

EVEN YOU KIZ, YOU HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THEIR KIT. ?YOU SHOULD REALLY CHANGE YOUR OPINION OF THEM. ?HEY KIZ HOW FAR FROM IRC ARE YOU? CAN YOU GO TELL HIM HE SUCKS AND IS A HORRIBLE BUSINESS PERSON.

I WILL BE GOING TO EVERY FORUM I CAN TO TELL EVERYONE HOW HORRIBLE HE IS.

Are you seriously complaining about 2 weeks delivery??? Everytime i order from the states, i can wait up to 1  month to 6 weeks for packages to arrive. I ordered a sway bar around 2.5 weeks ago and its still not here! You should be more patient. Only when ordering from the states do i give up to 1 month. Canada is very gd, but i think its because they are not so strict with customs charges???

Its been shipped or you wouldnt have tracking, IRC isnt responsible for updating tracking, thats the post office problem.

it doesnt matter how long the transit time is.  it took over a week and a half to get it in the mail.  thats why IRC sucks
