Lets talk LCG TVP's for the Savage XL

Post by janetandsteveo » Wed Feb 01, 2012 1:24 pm

So in building my Fallout Proof/Emergency Zombie Attack Response Vehicle, I've come across a few different TVP's, all from either Innovative RC or Fastlane Machines.  I'm not sure the advantages/disadvantages to any of them.

Hoping those of you with experience with any of the following TVP's can chime in and let me know what you think!

Innovative-RC TVP's
Extended 1mm Back, 6mm Front, 4mm Thick LCG TVP Kit - 112.95Innovative-RC EXT LCG TVP's 1back, 6front
Extended 6mm Front, 4mm Thick LCG TVP Kit - 108.10Innovative-RC LCG TVP Ext 6mm Front

Fastlane Machine TVP's
Extended LCG TVP - 60.00FLM EXT LCG TVP
XL HD TVP - 45.00FLM XL HD TVP

Now I see that the IRC TVP's are 4mm thick, while the FLM's are 4.7mm thick.  On the numbers I'd go with the FLM's but they also have ALOT more holes, don't look nearly as solid as the IRC's.  Other than that I can't tell the advantages/disadvantages of any of them.

What say you?

Exactly what it says SXL.  It is a Savage XL built to withstand the end of the world. A first response vehicle should zombies ever attack.

I haven't come across any either Cadimman.  The only thing even XL length I've found are the FLM HD XL TVP's.  No pic on FLM site, but from the description it just says they are stronger in the weakpoints of the stock XL TVP's.

Little Lasers? No.  Big ones? Quite possibly.

No in all honesty its mainly a joke.  I'm trying to build the strongest toughest blast proof savage I can.  I'm wanting something that I can literally just beat the living *censored* out of. I don't plan on ever being careful. Don't care about racing, I want something I can literally run through a fence.

Lasers definitely a good idea, Maybe pick up some G.I. Joe figurine guns and mount those to the body.  Definitely have big plans for the bodies.

Two in mind right now.  One for the Zombie Attack/Nuclear Fall out theme.  The other one with a big diamond ring painted on it.  Lots of bling, etc,  with My EX painted across it.  Being as how this build is from what was my engagement ring bank account :)

I had FLM's no IRC's. The IRCs are stronger. Its availability that is the problem.

I noticed stock being an issue.  Have you heard via other threads/people how long it takes when you backorder?

I have waited 3 weeks. Others have waited longer. I see he does have his shocks on DDM. Maybe *censored* do a little better now.

Not a problem, personally I like them the best. Don't know if you noticed, but the pic of my truck I posted with the SC lid, HAS the XL HD FLM TVPs installed on it ;)

They just look good from any angle and are fully XL spec, if it fits a XL it fits on them, and they are SOLID, good luck messing them up.

Took over a moth to get both of my FLM TVP sets to Canada though, but the shipping didn't take anytime at all, it was waiting for them to leave FLM.

Yeah I had the same experience with my FLM order.  I think they make the best TVP's but they take their sweet *censored* time sending them out!  I also got their motor plate, aluminum bulkheads, steering draglink and am going to order their shock towers and extended center skid soon.  The quality of their parts is amazing!

Those HD's look great! I'm guessing they are mid tank compatible?

Thanks, I like them.

Partially. The front can support the MTM but the relocation of the throttle servo needs a mounting plate as it has the same layout for the gas tank as the stock XL TVPs. I'm not sure but there my be a kit that has a plate included, but somebody will have to point it out.
