I wouldn't trust a K&N filter on ANY motor that was not running in Lab clean environment haha. Breath like nothing else but they suck in a lot of dirt, figured that out after a couple ATV engines.

I've used K&N filters on my race prepped E36 BMW M3 and on my current E46 M3. They filter out the dirt pretty well and you have to be on top of maintenance to keep them performing well. The only drawback I experience on them is that the oil used to lube the filters have a tendency to accumulate on the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) which means you need to clean that out at least once every 2 years. I clean it yearly since it only takes 5 minutes to do.

But for a high revving 39,000 RPM nitro engine, I don't think this filter would perform the same.
Looking for well modded truggy/buggy, PM me! Also maybe Savage X/XL

On road cars maybe, I still trust them especially anything off-road
