Post by wazza35 » Mon Jun 22, 2015 4:42 am

hi all i am wanting to upgrade my motor and esc in my XS. I am looking for as much speed and power as possible.
also what gearing would you recommend.
I have only just installed a castle creations sidewinder 3 esc and 5700kv motor how ever it is not right for the XS

ok cool thanks

just wondering is the reason the 5700kv is heating up to much because of the hight
kv rating or is the xs to heavy for it.
If i go back to a lower kv motor will i get less heat ??

yes, you will get less heat with lower kv. I recommend the 3800kv motor. the lower kv will allow you run larger pinion gear, resulting in more speed without overheating. you will need to test larger pinion gears, there is a limit to how large you can go. good luck!
