Why aren't there bladders in the stock shocks?

Post by oarie » Sun Mar 09, 2003 3:33 am

Shock bladders are only effective on short stroke on-road shocks. None of the 1/10th scale trucks use bladders because the amount of volume that is displaced by the shock shaft during the suspension stroke can't be compensated by a bladder. The bladder would be pulled into the shock body. The Savage shocks are even longer, so it would be even more difficult to make bladders work.

The stock shocks work really well without bladders, try some silicone shock oil.
