Do you need the XTM starter shaft for this mod? If not then all I need is the backplate and one way correct?

Nice, well I think Im gonna win an ebay auction, 22$ for the oneway and backplate. No all I need is a rotostart kit. Thanks! Since its been awhile since this post, have you had any troubles?

Not sure of any of them, I think the s-25 works but the rest I really cant say. I guess you could try and see and let us all know! I guess it reall all depends of the size of the bottom neck you know.

GREAT MERCIFUL CRAP THANK GOD!

I just pulled out my M427 because i couldn't fit the 18/49 into my X....too much guts for the 15/49 gearing, LOL.

AND i just so happen to be converting my .247 pro to a bumpstart engine;)

ok, just for the record, the XTM OWB won't fit on the M427's crank pin. the crank on my M26 and M427 look identical aside from the little pin, but I REALLY don't feel like tearing apart three perfectly good motors to temporarily disable one

i have the savage 21 and i'm putting the mach 26 in truck was thinking about using roto start but i notice the .21 starts in wrong direction as the m26. I do know it is a different size shaft. Do you reverse the bolt or something like that. I didn't spend much time with it yet. Talking about starting

Thank you

joe, if you use the xtm back plate and one-way along with the mach .26's starter shaft all you need to do is then bolt the roto on. there is two gears inside the roto plate, this in turn spins the motor the correct way to run.

hope this helps,

I just got a Mach .28 will this setup work on it also? I'm tired of rebuilding the pullstart not to mention the blisters!

Also, you can just install the roto backplate to the mach .26 if you tap and die the mach backplate. I have done this with mine. Then dremel all the extra metal off the large mach backplate. Cost $3.00 for the small bits from the depot.
There is a sticky somewhere on that. Might even be this thread, I didn't start from the beginning.
