I heard from a guy on another forum that the springs are rated all the same. Only thing is that it comes in different colors.

If you look at the pic and count the coils, you will see that they are different. On the far right I counted 18 coils. The far left spring has 21 coils. :)

If they are different rates then that is a great deal. 4 springs from WFC are like $8 or something like that.

i got a package today.. this is the low down on them... they are each different rate per coil count..
and i only paid 25 for them...

green 19 extra hard
red 20 hard
purpal 21 med
green 22 soft
blue 23 extra soft...

the 2 greens are idenical in color so # of coils matter... my impression so far.. i need to figure out a way to get the pound rate of them.. but they are nice.. and for 30ish not a bad deal..

ok ive played with them some, my feelings now.... i used a long screw driver to keep the spring from flying when compressed, aka shaft down the middle, stock spring, mine, old/worn im sure, rates with BLUE may be close to the green, but i feel blue, im going to visit local post office with electronic scale to see if i can figure out how many pounds to compress them each to 3/4 length, but force of hand may makeit innacurate.... :?

i think the max stiff ones are around 4lb....

so blue 2lb
green 2.5lb
purpal 3lb
red 3.5lb
green 4 lb

pretty good in theory, and sounds good, i just got to see what kinda results i can get in such a test, but by phicis i know it will be a untrue test....

I recieved these today and if you want harder springs you shouldnt buy these because the hardest ones is softer then the original springs :!:

i disagree... stick the spring on a long screw driver then press it down.. compair it to the stockers... mind you mine have way over 10 gal of abuse, but you will see the softest is almost equal to the original orange ones.. yea i would agree to put them side by side.. but on how difficult it is to compress with someting in th emiddle to keep it from flying you will see they are stiffer..

i figure as soon as #2 is back together i will clean/repair #1 and then start messing around. i also want to compare whats in 'the bag' to the springs on the .25 rtr.

did some bashing this morning :D

i ran the .25 in a very bumpy area [big bulldozed area next to my land, lot of bumps/ruts/rocks etc.], started out with the stock black springs, no control what so ever at speed, lotta flip overs. i then paired a set of the red springs from this package with a set of original red springs off one of the other savages. i only did this in the back, and added another thick spacer to get the ride height back up, i left the front stock. BASH TEST :D rear planted nice, and traction was up, front was way too bouncy. back to the lab, did the fronts like the rears, but only one thick spacer on each. back to bashing, oh yeah, that worked great. way more control, and turning was great, the front was digging nice now too.

note: this is with whatever goo is in the shocks stock, wanted to play, so i have not oiled the shocks yet

i think eventually i will end up with a little note book so i can change my springs for different enviornments [how sad does that sound?]

i think it's worth the cash outlay. you get a boatload of spring options for what one set of springs costs.
